This thread is for us to share any information, questions, suggestions, adventure gear on bushcrafting. I will start with some:

Joe Flowers, local NC expert, trained Zoologist, trainer, writer, explorer, jungle expert. https://www.facebook.com/joe.flowers.94043. Owner of Bushcraft Global BUSHCRAFT GLOBAL | Jungle Expeditions, does expeditions to the rainforests as well. Upcoming expeditions to Colombia (hey, maybe go there and bring back s FJ43?)

So I'm curious what most of you guys might carry in a survival bag, bushcraft kit, bugout bag, so on so forth.

So in my pack I keep in my truck and what I used on my survival trial with my buddy (its stayed about the same for the last 6 years) I have ..
-2 stripped MREs
-100' 550 cord
-pack of water tablets
-first aid kit (old army one)
- gerber multi tool
-Winchester knife
-Walmart survival kit
-thread and needle kit
-small fishing kit
-1qt canteen canteen cup
-weather proof matches
-flint and striker
-pantyhose
-slingshot
-small foldable metal stove about the size of my wallet.
-collapsible 2 gallon jug
-tarp and my woobie poncho liner

That's about everything I carry I got it all into my camelback backpack.

I like using cheap stuff and testing how long it works. Honestly I've been surprised with a lot of the walmart brand stuff so far.

If not in the kit: mirror, thermal blanket, fire starter, and is the winchester a 6" blade knife? I would throw in a baofeng radio and small solar charger if it fit.

I have an flint and striker in there but do you mean something to ignite? Winchester is a 3" blade I have a m9 bayonet I usually take with me but it's not "in"bag. Good call on the charger though!
I'll look that up I had a hand crank radio and light/ charger but it was garbage and I could never get it to work very long

The souls of my vanquished enemies....... oh wait... no that's wrong i've been playing Skyrim too much after the gym lately. LOL

I don't have one anymore but basically I had a small but centralized first aid kit, mutlitool, good quality knife, MRE's, and quite a bit of surpluss equipment.

No such thing as to much....

Surplus gear is the best lol

 and I keep yours in mine! We are both screwed.

A word on MRE's, lots of sugar on those, intended for quick burst of burning fuel. A bag of nuts, almonds, other high fat nuts, will provide more fat as fuel instead of sugar or sugar derivatives. Fat is long burning vs sugar is fast, and sugar gives you that hunger pain and headache once gone that goes with sugar swings. Dry goods like nuts dates, etc can last a long while too.
The sugar and corn empire control the food and drink industry, trillion dollar business, and influence the government and government decisions heavily in their favor.

I rely on stunningly good looks.
A silver tongue.
And the kindness of strangers.

I have a lighter and weatherproof matches in that cheap kit . I just put it in there to have I mean why not.

honestly I think trying to do it with a flint striker is fun to do lol

My bags seem to always evolve and grow. I would say in general they are simular to yours but I like to be prepared for everything.
I have some different stuff in there like water filtration system so I can get water from anywhere. Solar panel for electronics. Hand generator with radio. Multi tool hatched for wood. Gas masks potassium iodide, rain suit, with duct tape. Ammunition. Depending on the situation a firearm or two. Sharpening stone. Honestly I am sure there are many things I am forgetting but these are aome of the things that come to mind as I am watching my kids Hapkido practice

My wife thinks I am nuts.

This is an interesting and entertaining read:

No Lucky Charms in a ziplock?
That Sir, is a hurtful and racist stereotype. Besides they're too sugary. I'll stick with cheap whiskey and a cold potato.
