Bummer.:frown:

At least you know what you're up against. And it's not the end of the world, just a rough passage.

Here's a link to a pretty good recent thread that has lots of good info and tips:

The LandCruiser sixes have always been big, beefy monsters. The 1FZ is no exception/ Definitely requires a heavy duty hoist, however you go about it.

The hoist I have is actually on loan from my buddy who used it for his fj40 and f150. I think it's up to the job. I might actually get a bigger engine stand. Lots of things to consider.

It's official. HG blown. I got a milkshake that's sending me to the parts yard.

The UV dye is an awesome way to look for leaks though. I would recommend that to anyone chasing a coolant leak.

Dropping the rig off today with Torfab for a professional opinion on some of the baselining needed. Ordering IdahoDoug's DVD.

Going to read up on the HG threads. I have a picker and an engine stand already (due to 87 4runner swap I am getting ready for), so I am going to look into whether or not it is easier just to pull the motor out and work with it on a stand.

This is something I'd rather have been wrong about. But like I said earlier, it's not the end of the world. Just take it slow - even if you spend an hour or two labelling little containers for parts, it won't be that bad.

Its not the end of the world. I am in the beginning stages of pulling the motor out of my 87 runner right now, which I will replace with a crate motor. This just means I have two big projects staring me in the face. I might pull the trigger on purchasing a parts washer I have my eyes on, since I will have twice the parts to wash now.

Honestly, starting fresh with a decent baseline on the cruiser will pay off in the long run.

Yeah, a good investment in long term happiness with the vehicle.

Now, when you see all the HG threads, no need for paranoia. The worst has already happened:hillbilly::wrench:
