Has anyone tried the Bully Dog GT Gas Tuner on their LC? I called BD and they haven't tested it yet. I'm just wondering if someone has already been the guinea pig. My UniChip seems to be adversely affected by changes in ambiant temperature. The 2,000 hp LC at SEMA used a Motec M1 but even Toyota couldn't get it to work. I'm looking for a reliable solution.

Honestly unless it came from Slee, ARB or Toyota I wouldn't trust it. In the J**p world, there is AEV which an incredible aftermarket company that is essentially OEM (even provide the bumpers for OEM special editions) and is the equivalent to what we have in Slee for the LC, and AEV and ARB was all I put on my JKUR. It seemed/seems like anything tuning related outside of those companies always caused issues, and these vehicles are too nice to screw with unless it's extremely high quality and reliable aftermarket.

IMO, having tuned several Lexus, including turbo Lexus's in the past, and now my own personal Porsche...

For NA cars, there's relatively little horsepower left on the table from the manufacturer. Unless it's paired with significant breathing mods (i.e. intake, exhaust, cams), the stock tunes are quite optimal. Chasing additional hp on an NA motor is really at the cost reliability as the stock tunes timing walks a fine line between optimal combustion and knock. The A/F can be leaned a tad for more power, but with closed loop ECU control, it's hard to consistently trick the ECU.

Ah, I apologize. Yes, you absolutely need a tune.

Has the Toyota ECU's been cracked to support flash tunes?

I'm tuning a sleeved, bored and stroked, supercharged 6.2L 3UR. No NA here.

WTF? 6.2L? SUPERCHARGED?

Holy crap, that's some cruiser porn!!!

WE NEED PICS!
