Ok,
Im tierd of tryi g to tweak my v8 conversion, to handle the heat of mini.um highway legal speed (60).

The brute force soloution seems to be a radiator with lots of excess capacity, and electric fan and shroud. Something designed for a v8 originally.

Its a 82 chevy, 305ho, but id like a radiator that will handle any non-foolish motor i might replace it with...

Ive got several taurus fans, and can make a shroud...

Can anyone reccomend a good radiator soloution?
82 camero is obvious since thats what the motor is from, but if there is well known most awesone radiator, like the taurus fan?

Aluminum radiator...electical fan that on at 180 and 190 thermostat. So winter I run at 180-185 and summer around 190 and a 12 lb radiator cap

Make sure your engine is running propel as well.... my carb isn't right and my timing is probably off (pointer is MIA).

I had a 2 core champion radiator with 16" electric fan and it ran over 230*. I put in the largest radiator I could, but am still getting temp creepin up (much slower and much more stable)... but I also used an IR sensor to check varying things, and the engine just isn't right given wide variances in exhaust temps.

My cooling system is far more than sufficient for my tired 350 but is struggling due to other factors. So make sure you are good otherwise before you go changing parts.

How many core is your current radiator?

I played with timing, i played with water wetter, It had a new 2 core Aluminum radiator in it i swap from mechanical fan no shroud to taurus fan with custom shroud...Id done tons of stuff that supposed to help, thermostat, radiator cap, i haven't' scoped the passages in side the block, or done the IR thermo check , but that's about all that's left...

All the "fiddling" I've done has let me run it about 50mph, parts of the Hwy near me are 85, with a min 65... so i want it to do 60-65 without even worrying a bit.

2 core aluminum, I'm pretty sure , have to check w/ Kling-on he put it in before i got it from him. Looks brand new. I read that more cores help up to 3, then it's diminishing returns.

OK, Pflugerville..Down there by Austin. Yeah... it gets triple digit hot there for weeks at a time. I feel you brother. Even though I now live in SoFlo it's seems horrible hot here with pure humidity. But not South Texas hot. I did my conversion in Austin a long time ago and I had concerns too. Stock radiator just had to watch it at highway speeds..Put in a Man a fre 4 core and it helped....Moved to Colorado mountains and pulled a small Shasta travel trailer and as I got further the hell out of Texas the temp gauge gradually decreased even across the hot plains. Never really been an issue since then. Get out of Texas. that's the remedy! Well maybe the Panhandle would be ok, don't even need a fan.. the friggin wind blows so hard. I always have used a 160 degree thermostat and put on a aluminum intake.
