Hi everyone

I recently installed OME 2861/2862 set of springs, OEM shocks and 285/75/r16 tires. My rear sway bar bracket broke a couple days later. I'm not sure if there is a direct correlation with my new installs or not.
Now, do I need new sway bar bushings, lower my front/rear sway bars or all of the above to prevent that from happening again? Thanks for yours assistance.

it would be wise to drop them and check to see if you lift has caused a significant lateral shift, unless you also add longer panhard bars your axle will be offset a bit in the truck, this could also cause some misalignment that could add to the stress on the sway bar set up.

MAF/Slee sells the drop brackets! I run the MAF's and they have worked great over the past 3-4 years.

I actually removed my rear swaybar with no negative consequences. I don't speed through corners anyway, and felt like it would limit my flex anyway when wheeling. I'm sure some may feel this is not recommended, but it hasn't affected my ride quality noticeably.

Did the bar bracket itself break or did the bolt break and the bar is loose? I had the bolts broken on the rear after installing the 2" Ironman lift, and I had to ream new holes and insert new bolts.

x2 for me as well. My driver side bushing worked its way out on a wheeling trip, and when I went to remove it, the bolts sheared off.

Those are the "stock height" springs, no? which will actually lift you at least 0.75", probably more vs. 20 year old factory springs. You don't need longer panhard or caster correction or anything for that configuration, provided you didn't add any spacers to the spring searts.

It's a coincidence, imho. Replace and be on your merry way.

It will absolutely limit rear flex. I removed mine after one of the mounts let go.

Limiting flex is what sway bars are about.
