haha...knowing me, I'd forget. It's already locked. Been driving it a little since I pulled the flanges. Heavy mil plastic sheeting sandwiched between the rim and the hub has been keeping grime out. But that's a ghetto solution so putting the flanges back on today. What are the torque specs for the drive flange nuts with the cone washers?

24ft lbs IIRC, but double check that. And, no RTV or sealant, just put the paper gasket on.

Good memory. It's funny how much Toyota says isn't reusable. New dust cap? Right.

I'm reusing the dust cap. And c clips. If I replace them with new, I'll do it when I get the new flanges and diff put in. Mr slee will make sure of that

Excuse my ignorance. What's the point of the c-clip EDIT: Snap Ring with machined flanges?

Explain this to me. Do I need to reinstall it with machined flanges? Keeps it from sliding in towards the center diff?

One final question, the cv splines seem to rub inside the now smooth flange housing. He machined them 20 thousandths bigger on each side. Do they need to be machined larger??

Yes the snap-ring/circlip keeps the CV from moving inward. I would say if the CV shaft is rubbing on the ID of the bored out hub flange you'd want to relieve a little more of the bore...my don't rub. And if you must ask...it will be tomorrow :D

Excellent. Thank you very much for the help...thanks to trunk too and everyone else. Going to pull the freshly reinstalled drive flanges today and send them back to dad to be machined again. I guess I'll have to take my sisters vw diesel beetle to the ski hill this weekend :-/ so much for all the work setting up my snowboard ski rack
