Brenno,

Are you thinking about hanging the rear doors on?

I was but it looks like a lot of work. I have to have a good look with them next to the truck. ( I didn't realise they latched to the bottom and top in the middle.) I believe that either barn door or tailgate were no cost options but I could be wrong. Seem like a lot of work for Toyota to produce different styles of bodies.

I thought the tailgate was an upgrade option in the world market, and the amby door came standard EXCEPT in the US where it was only an electric tailgate. I Talked to Specter years ago and he told me it was an entirely different rear clip. at least, that's why I never pursued trading my electric tailgate for a set of amby doors...prolly do-able, but like you said, a real pain in fab work...got any more pics of your LPG set-up? the mixer and adapter that is...

New plan is to find a bench seat (after all I consider this my "classic car" and I like the things that make it unique compared to todays cars).
I've cut out the cross bars that were used for the old buckets.
Now I am just trying to find a bench seat.(If you have one and are happy to sell and are in Aus I'm interested! Send me a PM)
Slow progress, but progress none the less.:)

I've got a NICE one with one rip at driver side, but its in the states. look into shipping costs and if it seems reasonable, hit me up and it's yours...

I started tackling the surface rust/pitting in the trunk floor last weekend. Feels good to slowly start rust prevention.

To get in the trunk I've had to enter/exit by putting all my weight on the tailgate.
Is there a load limit for the tailgate? Has anyone broken their hinges/ struts?

If/when you have time, would appreciate a detailed pic of the air cleaner assembly and mount.

Having the arse end cut off the '72, I can see exactly where Toyota changed to accommodate both doors, and it's only the opening size, orientation of the pillars that appear needing changed to swap, but the pics I've seen of ambi doors also appear to have a reinforcing bend in the outer pillar shell.

I'm willing to give it a go.

On the two of mine I can lower the gate, the torsion bar mount has cracked away from the frame and the '72 appears to have had the upper arms reinforced, but can't say from fatigue or an over zealous body man.

The same '72 shows signs of separation from the outer skin at the lowers, which appear to be from fatigue, but considering the extensive amount of crappy body work done after, what appears to be, a rear end collision, it's all assumption.
