Just never tried... i wanted to get the toyota dot 3 brake fluid but i had the bosch avail so put that instead... brake feels better, after only 3 years there was an improvement in feel...
 
And 5 is backwards compatible so why not use it?

Technically dot 5 is not, dot 5.1 is.

And for the reasons stated earlier.. dot 3 usually lasts the longest before losing temperature resistance, and if it covers the expected temp range of the truck we might as well keep running the stuff that resists moisture absorption for as long as possible.
