I was in the local Picknpull today grabbing parts for a friend. While I was there, I got a brake booster and master cylinder off of a 1994 SR5 4Runner. Dragged it home, and it looks slightly different from the one on my 1990 22RE pickup. Different connection configuration for the lines, and maybe a different wiring attachment. Can the newer one be switched into the 1990 when needed?

Yes. The booster should be very close to the same, if not the same. I'm guessing your front brake line comes off the top of the master cylinder, and the one you harvested comes off the side. No big deal. No need to bend lines. If you acquired the booster/master as one unit it should have come with the correct front line that goes down to the three-way below the MC.

Yes, the lines are configured differently. The short line that starts and ends on the MC is different, and the front line comes in differently as well. The casting looks the same on both MCs. I will keep the new one until that project comes up. Planning to get V6 calipers at some point to go with my new tires.
