Looking to purchase a 2016 LC. What are the things to check and/or watch out for? It has around 80k miles. I've read that early models had transmission shudder and airbag recall? All and any advise is appreciated.

From what I've researched so far:
1. Cam Tower Oil Leaks

I wouldn't listen to anyone that doesn't own a 16+.
There was a seatbelt recall,, not an airbag recall.
There is a TSB (Tech Service Bulletin) for a hard shift between 1 and 2 when you floor it. The TSB smooths it out. Not all had the issue.
At 80k they may have only changed fluids as they are reliable.
Look on the drive shaft grease nipple and look they have been lubed. I change my oil and lube my drive shaft after taking it to the dealer who said and documented that they lubed the drive shaft but they didn't.
There are 2 radiators. The 16 came with the one that could have a problem. There are some threads about it, but nothing to worry about. You can swap it out to avoid the issue, but many folks don't bother.
Myself if it hadn't been done I would replace the trans fluid & spark plugs.
Diff and transfer case should have been changed every 30k.
The factory steering wheel will have leather issues, you can swap it out or have an auto upholstery shop re due the leather or there are some replacement kits.

I have a '16 (I previously had a '13). The '16 has a ton of similarities, but better brakes, (fixed) 8 speed transmission, updated styling. I haven't had any issues, but I did get the transmission TSB. It has been even more reliable than my '13 (which only had one issue at 99.9k miles - a fuel pump ecu).
I also love my '16.

I have a 2011 LX but I'm watching for a 2016 LC. There are some nuances between model years but I really don't know of any deal breakers on a specific model year. Obviously better if the things mentioned have been addressed before finding out by accident they haven't!

Brought her home. Had to act fast as there were supposedly over 60 people from all over the country wanting to buy it, some even offered to pay over asking. Car is mostly clean with 80k miles on the clock. Had to do some interior deep cleaning to bringit up to my standards. Next step paint correction as it has some minor scratches. No accidents, all panels are original, PPF on the front. Unfortunately paid the asking price, but I think it's worth it. One thing I am not sure of is the trim around nav screen looks like it's peeling. I can't understand wherether it's some type of protective film or an actual trim going bad. Maybe someone has a clue? As far as the trim peeling there’s a thread here, doesn’t look like a straight answer.
Definitely baseline the fluids. Coolant, brakes, engine oil, diffs, TC, trans. Depending on who you bought it from they might have done some of this so worth an ask ( I bought my truck Toyota gold used, they did all the fluids at 60k before I bought it).
Plugs aren’t due till 120k.
Check the belt and tensioner. Namely the belt for wear/cracks since it’s 10 years old.
Lube the drive shafts.
Run the vin through the Toyota owners website and pull the service history.

Yes, planning to baseline it very soon. Getting my list and wallet ready, lol. Prior owner (woman) was not a car person, all she said was that the brakes are new and oil change has been done. As with both my 100 series LXs I will overhaul everything just to be on a safe side. Any good videos on how to flush trans fluid? I hear it's a bit different on 200 series?

I'd assume that the 6 drive shaft zerks have never been kissed by a gun. Easy to tell by the splatter (or not) above each zerk.

Definitely looks like the protective plastic sheet was never removed, peel it off and you're good.
One thing I've found about a good clean used car, if the asking price if it's market value and be happy. Cars with issues whether small or large always cost more in the long run than the clean car, not to mention the lost time and grief of dealing with repairs.

Unfortunately $56k
The car is definitely clean mechanically and as tight as a drum on the road. It just needed a good cleaning inside and outside. I've read on here that some people had rought shifts on 2016 MY and had a TSB done to resolve it. Mine is on an old "100" version and it shifts smooth as butter.

Agree with the above. Not necessarily 100% of the time. But generally, you get what you pay for.
During Covid I looked hard for an 80 series that I didn't need, but wanted. One day a local LX450 popped up.
I'll never regret what I paid, which seemed high; I got that back in spades when I did the "reset" project and broke exactly zero bolts (and it was a monster project, I basically got me a new "old" beast).
