This OHV trail is south of Steamshovel and Bolivia. It is a mild trail but has some nice views and from the top you can look down into Dixie Valley East and the Stillwaters to the West.

I think it is about 10 miles from east to west trailhead and only takes about half a day. It has a great camping area on the Dixie Valley side, just before the trail begins. Just before the pavement ends on the Dixie Valley Road, if you look back southwest the long straight road leads to the trailhead. It has a few steep parts and near the top there are roads to explore that lead to some old miner's cabins. It is a little hike to JOB Peak 8,785 feet.

Yeah...I KNOW what you're thinkin' :flipoff2:. Maybe THIS year we can actually get out together rather than TALKING about it eh?!

Hey Mark, what is the most narrow spot on this trail? I doubt Brad would want to take the Cherokee on a "easy" type of ride, but he might take the chevy. That would be nice and comfy!! Maybe we can get a quick ride together in the plush wheelers....kinda like when you and Chris took the Taco's out to the race loop trail and me and Brad were bouncing around like rag dolls in my 40!!!! hahahaha:lol:

Yes, Brad can do it in his full size Chevy. There are some sharp corners where he may have to back up once or twice but any four wheel drive with decent ground clearance can do the trail. I want to go back and find the old cabin(s) up there. Just let me know when and I'm in.

Looks like a nice Trail Mark im up for after Sept and i get my 40 fixed Lol or ill take my 80 up there WOOT if i do that ill be wheelin in style hehe

Wow, old thread. I'm doing this trail tomorrow if anyone would like to join. I left a note on jeep in the parking lot. Guy said he would go if he wasn't going to the gun show in Reno tomorrow. Would be nice to have some other cruisers out there. Plan to leave NAS around 8 am.

Would love to, but the joy of laying paver stones is calling...:crybaby:

Have fun.

Jack

How about you go tomorrow and I'll come help you Sunday with your paver stones.

Did this trail today with some buddies riding in my rig. Had a great time.

I appreciate the offer, but we had other stuff we had to do, so we got it done Saturday morning.

Very cool, there are so many good things to see and mountains to cross in Nevada.

Wish I had checked sooner and I would have went with you. I know of quite a few other trails in the Stillwaters and Clan Alpine if anyone ever wants to make a few runs out that way. Respectfully, Mark

I think we're headed to Horse Creek on Sunday. Not sure of the plan just yet.
