Obd2 Bluetooth Scanner

It's a very good scanner and the bluetooth works just fine.

First post on the forum is promoting a product, hmmm... seems suspicious. No pertinent info in the post except a link to a product, not even any info about the recommended product. Seems like the work of a spammer to me. If not, please give some 80 series pertinent info.

I used it on a 2000 Tundra. I read sensors on it, erased a Oxygen sensor code and read rpm, engine coolant temp ect.

You need a computer or laptop to run the scan tool.

Has anyone sourced a OBD II -> Serial cable that has a 90° angle connector @ the OBD II plug?

If this or another Bluetooth reader is found to be worth it's cost, the issue still needs to be addressed about how to keep the OBD II cable plugged in and out of the way from nailing it with my knee.

Not sure about bluetooth, but most threads I've looked at simply unscrewed the obd2 port and pushed it and the cable into the dash. Then you can put the fuse panel cover back on.

Get the scangauge. You can easily flip the connector in the fuse panel and make it fit. I have no issue. I ran the cable through the dash and over to my center console. Just make sure you order a spare cable if you do this so that you can use it with another car easily.

How did you mount it to the console/dash? Looks nice.

Velcro on the top. The wire runs down between where the center console meets the dash (there is a little crack) and up over the steering column and down to the connector in the fuse panel.

Reviving this thread that came up on a Google search for "OBD2 blueooth" - I've bought a couple Scangauges, they are excellent - I'm sure the firmware is highly updated now as well as them being more compact. The one I have is bulky. Also, I just got a Samsung GalaxyS with the Droid OS and they have a bunch of apps that do the same thing - e.g. Torque. I haven't been able to find an OBD to microUSB connector though, and it seems the Bluetooth transceivers are variable in quality - Does anybody have any experience with them?

hi. i am new to this forum but can add a little insight. I bought a bluetooth OBD2 dongle from ebay. It shipped from hong kong and it cost about $30 (most of the price is the shipping). I use Torque on my Droid phone and it works perfectly when scanning my 2003 Dodge truck and 2005 Volvo SUV. I don't have any other OBD2 cars to try it on, but it's pretty easy to use, will display engine vitals and will also reset codes - plus there's no wires to worry about. It was worth the $30. Search 'OBD dongle' on ebay and you will get a bunch of hits. I have the ELM 327.

I use Innovate OT2, its not bluetooth but Wifi instead and it works pretty good. I havent experienced any lag like I though I would as opposed to a direct connection. If you have an Iphone there is an app called Logworks that works really well with it and you can download the software from the Innovate site.
