Had a nice camping weekend, stayed at Dome Springs Campground in Los Padres National Forest. We were pretty much the only group in the whole campground and it was open shooting everywhere. Fun weekend of fast wash sections mixed with rock gardens, shooting, and sitting around the fire, great times!

All in all, wonderful weekend, although my exhaust decided to high tuck itself in the rock garden, you live and you learn, time for a rechop!

this is exactly why i dont want to route my exhaust this way, ill leave it coming right out the back like stock, maybe id tuck it up and out of the way, then have it turn down right before the bumper.

if i havent said it before, i love your rig! keep it up

Got to play around on a RTI ramp at my buddy's local FJC meet.

Finally got some funds to score me a good deal on some used 4th gen 4runner Demello Offroad X-Wing sliders this last weekend. A big thanks to Jason Fleck for the installation help and the use of his awesome shop. We were prepared to weld these bad boys on, but to our surprise, they bolted right up to the existing factory holes minus the pain of having to drop the gas tank skid. These are super beefy and overkill but I love them and just happy to finally have some sliders on my rig!

I love how those sliders stick out farther than most I've seen. They should provide some serious protection.

Yeah I dug the look of these when Demello Offroad first came out with them for the FJ, and lucked out on this set. These kickouts should provide some serious onroad and offroad protection!

Thanks bud, I had a welder on stand by if the door trim wasnt going to clear or if if the mounting was going to be an issue, just glad it was an easy 1 hour install!

Yup for a non-KDSS GX470, the 4th gen 4runner purposed sliders will mount up to the same frame holes. However, if the slider has any kickup at all, they will interfere with the plastic door trim and you may have to cut some of that trim off in order to make them work. The Demello X-wing sliders go straight out from the mount wit no kickup so no clearance issues whatsoever.

MetalTech also has a slider specifically for the GX. It's basically the same as the 4runner slider, but it's been "adapted" to work with the GX for a perfect fit.

^yup, great option if you want to bolt on and go!
