I have a 89 pickup 4x4 with a blown 22re and i want to swap a 7mgte l6 in its place. I was wondering if there was anywhere to get an engine besides jdmtigerjapanese.com? Also I need some help with the tcase because i still want it to be 4x4. Any info will help. Thanks

I personally am not familiar with this swap but I am sure someone will chime in. You might check over on yotatech, they might have some swap threads on it.

Just from what you said it sounds like that motor may be an import motor. Are you set on that motor? If not have you looked at the newer 4cyl (3rz I think) or the 3.4L v6 swap. I think both would be more swap friendly and parts availability may be better. If power is what you are after the 3.4 with a supercharger might fit the bill.

Good luck, keep us posted.

you can put the supra motor in there, but all the installs I have seen are SLAMMED and CRAMMED in there imo.

i agree the 5vz and 3rz engine swaps are much cleaner and plenty of power for modern truck..

but if you are set on the supra motor for some reason, check a junkyard. pull a running motor swap it in, and once you get all the details figured out and gremlins worked out, then pull the motor out and rebuild it (if needed)..

yotatech and pirate4x4 has lots of info on it...but be careful on pirate...they are all diks over there. dont ask any questions before extensive research or they will rape you.

Thanks! And i was really kinda set on the 7m. Ive seen vids about guys putting them in a 4wd, just not sure how they hooked up their transfer case. Ive done a little research about fitment and i was thinking on running electric fans. There is a really good thread on supracharged.com about wiring

You say you have a blown 22re...post up some picks of that thing. I have only seen 1 other supercharged 22re and it was a LC set-up.

Let see it...

Hahahaha... I don't think that is what he meant.

I got it off a neighbor that decided not to run any oil in it and threw a bearing through the side of the block about the size of a pop can haha
