Having some electrical issues with both front and rear lights. We 99’ lx470

With nighttime lights off
- left blinker will cause the whole dash to flash intermittently with it.
- when I turn my left blinker on my hazards blink. As well as my left blinker.

With night time lights on
- left blinker light on dash stays lit at all times
- rear left and front left blinker light remains on, but blinks brighter as the blinker clicks

Right side is operating normally

Anyone know what’s going on? I replaced my rear bulbs just now and no success

So basically my left blinker lights are constantly on when I have my nighttime lights on. And when my nighttime lights are off, my left blinker is causing my hazards to go off.

I’ve been checking what I can, but would really appreciate some insight

It did just start doing this. Coincidentally, right after I blew a tire.

I actually just replaced my stop fuse, and it seems like it fixed my blinker issue. But now my brake lights are not working and I can’t get the car to go out of park.

What does this piece do? Is this causing my brake light problem now

Do you have a a '98 to '02? If so, then yeah probably. Trailer wiring needs to tap into the truck brake light circuit for the trailer brake lights.

Ya it’s a 99. I dropped that piece (of course). I’ll go grab a new one. It needs to go in the STOP fuse port?

Is there some aftermarket wiring in that fuse box near that fuse?

Pic would help.

I don’t believe so. Only thing that’s missing from this pic is the fuse tap

There was a GPS/SeriusXM hookup on it when I bought. Only aftermarket thing I can think of

I don't see any aftermarket wiring near that fuse block, but the pic is a bit zoomed in. Where did you find that fuse tap?

Which tire blew? Did you look for damaged wiring around that wheel well?

The fuse tap was stuck in the STOP port or the one before it. There was nothing attached to it.

My front left tire blew. But I pulled into a parking lot immediately. Tire was still full of air, so nothing jarring occurred.

Possibly pinched a wire while raising my spare tire holder back into place?

Your original problem sounded exactly like an issue I had last year, except mine was the opposite side. I ended up finding the problem with the front right turn signal after I removed the headlight. The wiring had frayed apart, and a power wire was touching a ground backfeeding power to all the turn signals on that side, and dash when my lights were on (or something along those lines, I'm no electrical engineer). I'm skeptical a fuse would fix this issue, and wonder if the original issue is still there, and the new fuse just changed what symptoms still appear (but again, I don't know a ton about electrical stuff).

I think you nailed it. The trailer wiring harness runs through this area. There are threads on here about the trailer wiring area causing electrical issues.

Your symptoms sound like the brake (STOP) circuit that feeds your trailer wiring is backfeeding your OE wiring.

The fuse tap may just be a red herring remnant from the aftermarket GPS removal.

I’ll look into this and report back. Thanks!

Found the thread. Can also check you VIN to see if your truck is covered by the recall mentioned.

Just popped the tire off and looked underneath. Everything looks fine except there looks there may be a missing connection here?

Does anyone know where to check for grounding issues?

That connector is probably for AHC.

Closely inspect those white wire taps for the trailer converter.

Also, the converter itself could have failed internally. Based on the spare tire being messed with recently, I bet one of those aftermarket leads going to the trailer converter is not hooked up correctly.
