I sort of expect that's why it's a 1 day sale. The last one was a month long, so had lots of time to grain traction across multiple Toyota forums.

That was an issue of that one dealer becoming totally overwhelmed when their contact info and website went viral. People buying stuff under the same terms from other dealers in the region didn’t have any problems.

Yes the single day is probably a response to that.

I’d just avoid any sites that happen to go viral.

Any advantages to quad lock over magsafe for Apple devices, if it’s not getting mounted on a bike/motorcycle handlebar?

It looks like Quad Lock is very similar to Rok Form's product that I've been using for quite some time now. In both cases it's a true locking connection that pretty much can't release by accident vs a magnet which could release in rougher off road situations.

@Sinister can you still use your parking brake with that setup? It looks like it's very close to interfering with pulling the handle. Otherwise, I really like that setup.

As greynolds said, they are positive locking. Just turn 45 degrees and they lock into position. They also offer a magsafe compatible option for charging, but I haven't tried it.

Using mag safe with compatible cases, I’d be surprised if it came off with anything short of an actual wreck. It is really solidly attracted, as long as there is a magnet ring in the case as well.

Plus not being limited to the quad-lock compatible case choices..

Then again if I want to mount the phone on my motorcycle or bike I wouldn’t trust magsafe.. so if I’m investing there..

The quad lock really locks in, the this one is one with wireless mag safe is a really strong magnetic charger. I wanted quick and easy, I don’t off road and this thing isn’t falling off unless I wreck, perfect for me.

@greynolds, yes the parking break works fine.

I have it on mine. Idk how it would stand up to a deer strike… in my opinion I feel like it would offer more protection versus it not being there. I’m also of the opinion that it makes the Dissent the best looking and most 200 appropriate looking front bumper, the angular styling matches up with the front of the 200’more than the rounded styles of the ARB and other bull bar options… this is just my personal opinion.

It’s easily removed if you want to switch it up.
