We are headed out Feb 4th,5th,6th to Hole in the Wall camp (Just below Mojave Road/East of Ludlow/North of the 40) for Yosh's birthday. We've been burning a ton of fuel lately, so we're keeping it simple and close to home. Nothing remote, full on campground camping, but family/pet friendly with some little exploring saturday and a potluck that night. There are 35 pull in sites and their first come first serve. We are leaving the shop at noon on Friday and heading out. All you guys are welcome!

Bump for this, its coming up in about one week if anyone's interested. I know a few people have PM'd me so far.

For those that haven't contacted me yet, we'll be camping at Hole in the Wall camp near Mitchells Caverns.

Saturday i will lead a day run out to the mojave road area where we will view interesting sites and historical places. Bring a sack lunch for this.

Sunday, we will be heading to Mitchells Caverns and the Amboy Crater on the way home for those that aren't interested in rushing back for the super bowl.

If you're planning to come , we are doing a Potluck saturday night so if you could bring something to donate that would be terrific. Also, one bundle or two if you can of firewood.

Also, i will be bringing out an Off Road Tear drop to test and display if anyone wants to check it out.

Details on the campground..

The Hole-in-the-Wall Campground, located at 4,400 feet elevation and surrounded by sculptured volcanic rock walls, is a wonderful spot for camping. It has 35 campsites with areas large enough for motorhomes and trailers, and two walk-in tent sites. Facilities include pit toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, trashcans, and drinkable water on a limited basis. There are no utility hookups but there is a sanitary disposal station. Campsites are $12 per night. Reservations NOT accepted. First come-first serve.

Exit Essex Rd. Head North
Right on Black Cyn Road.
Hole in the Wall camp will be on your left.

There will be signs.

I am still a go and am taking Friday off. I am thinking about leaving early and staking out some sites or maybe I can follow you up? Was thinking about bringing my portable smoker if I leave early enough and smoking some tritip. :eek:

Man I've been itching to get back out.. I start a 5 week Saturday class Feb 5th and my daughters 18th B-day is the same day.. Class all day and then hang out with all these High School girls....:crybaby:

I love smoked tri-tip too..:frown:.. I have some mahogany chunks that I pick up in Bishop everyhear to smoke my Tri Tip with... with either Suzie-Q's Santa Maria seasoning as a dry rub or my wife makes a really good dry rub with tons of garlic too.... DAMN IT!! Oh well I'm sure I'll catch you guys one of these weekends..

Great! Looking forward to meeting you. I see you are in Arrowhead. We have a little place up in Green Valley Lake and thanks to the 330 closure, we have been driving by your neck of the woods more often.

Anyhow, i will see you on Friday (I will be in the white 80).
