Welded in..

This was last thing I needed to do before putting the piece in... Next, started tacking in.. Was a tight fit with some weird gaps. I swear this was the worst placement of the several times I have done it, as far as making the gaps as consistently minimal across the board. I tacked in, then removed, placed again, finally had semi minimal gaps (with exception of some big ones you'll see) but it all turned out pretty well in the end...

So, tacking..
First I cleaned.. then tacked in.. And then it's starting to look like a firewall again.. (finally!)

I used this highlift to move the body up enough to close the gap.. When I cut the firewall out, it drooped a little where the highlift is...

Second pic shows the biggest gap. On this side, driver's side, I welded from the inside. It actually turned out much cleaner than from the outside, how I did it on the passenger side.. Those nasty wire bits etc all got cleaned up and ground smooth in the end. Actually turned out OK...

I took a couple more pics of the motor mounts from the inside... I hadn't posted from this angle, shows particularly passenger side and gussets and how they placed, with frame plate as well... A little cheezy :) They surprise even me a little with how clean these turned out :grinpimp:

Bill (tlc88) who has the FJ62 that we are installing a Isuzu 4BD1-T was down at the shop with his family, and they got the engine put back together today.. I'll post pics tomorrow in the 4BD1-T thread, turned out killer...
