Kinda slow on the uptake aren't ya?

Your Craigslist kungfu is weak dude :flipoff2:

Nothin wrong with teardrops, can tow em with a car, build them in a weekend, and you're not sleeping in a f'ing tent...

I like the m101 and rtt idea, but you get all the hassle of towing a trailer without any of the benefits...for the same money as something I could sleep in.

Plus can't do the rtt thing with dogs, (least not our dogs)

Actually picked up a cheap boler on the weekend...so I'm going to have to change the ad a little.
Bear in mind, I'm a capitalist pig tho...:grinpimp:

Going to throw a little subframe and proper axle under the boler, then try it out. Tows great behind the crv, light and barely notice it's there which is what I want, just need to beef up it's nethers a touch for logging roads.

Guess I'll be doing a bit of shopping at p/a soon..

If we don't like it, I'll try something else, you know, maybe sell the cruiser and get a volkswagon van, grow some dreads, stop showering, harvest some patchouli oil, get a pet ferret.

Too bad there isn't a cross between a 42 and a westfalia....( don't worry I know there is, and yes the brain has been a-churnin on the idea for many moons, gonna need to do my quarters in the next year or two, be a shame if I accidentally added a few feet...)

If I ever get my truck wheelable and camping, Ill probably just tent it, tho I have seen a boler lifted on 30" tires ....looked pretty cool.:hillbilly:

I've been thinking about converting to pop top... as a sort of semi tent option... maybe if I drink too much one night... I have to measure to see if I did it if I'd fit. Idea was I could put a sheet of plywood up on top of the cage and be able to sleep from windsheild to rear doors length... have the roof pop up vertically with canvas sides and maybe a fold out section over the hood. Pop up kind of like this: Idealy I'd like to have it almost unnoticeable from the outside of the truck...

yeah, there used to be a company that made a kit for rovers that was like that. Even for the shorty 88's. one end hinged up and had canvas sides.

The way the lids are designed, it wouldn't be too hard to set up. http://www.google.ca/imgres?q=landr...&w=450&h=360&ei=qR7VTrP_LsGjiALX_9nLDg&zoom=1

My cage is above the fbg lid flange tho so that makes things a little awkward..

But, then there's the whole "dual occupancy" thing...you being the type to sleep in your clothes under your truck, you may find womenfolk to like a few more creature comforts...

But all this falls into the " Tell me about the rabbits, George" folder of future projects for me.

I tried to contact this guy but he never emailed me back. 80 series pop top tent

Looks like it just clamps to the roof gutters. He says you can climb in the back or else up through the sunroof. I don't even know if it has a proper floor or maybe you just sleep on your roof?

well the fact that the cage goes above the lip shouldn't matter to do what I'm thinking... I would put a floor in above the cage... then then the roof would lift up with canvas attaching it from the metal sides to the fiber top. So the sidewalls could be mounted below your top floor... this is all just dreaming in my head though...

Yeah, I was just thinking for convenience of building the pop top, the bed floor would rest on the hardtop sides...

I still have that extendo counterfeit troopy top I made for the 45 out under the apple tree...and every time I look at it I think "pop top troopy"

Cool. Friend of mine had a honda element (excrement?) and he was showing me a similar thing, where you climbed up into it through the sunroof.

But I have another setup to work on at the moment for sleeping arrangements, gotsta get it sealed up and out of the shop so I have room to move in there again.

Then fill it with beer and a heater and go to the lake on a weekend. :D

careful son, I did say above I'm a capitalist pig...;p

Yeah I know.... I also know what you paid for it. Even with a little capitalism it would still be a great deal. Just depends on your conscience and level of gluttony.

Perhaps Ill grab a keg of beer and we can discuss it further. :D

Low blow, Keep the gloves up!

Yes I suppose Mel is an expert on dealing with the very smallest of things. :flipoff2:

M101... Not for sale. Let me know if you change your mind.

Ill take the 101. ;)

Hey, watch it, I called it first in this thread... I should have the right to be the first person to say, "Are you F...ING kidding me, it's not gold plated!"

But don't worry, I'm a broke cheap bastard, and I likely wouldn't be willing to pay the capitalists outrageous price.

So how much do you want? How greedy are you?

yeah, but he emailed me a week ago when he saw the craigslist ad. :flipoff2:

Meant it when I said your c/l kungfu was weak.

( course, the ad was already a week or so old when he emailed me, so his ain't that s*** hot either.)

And because you've impugned my honour with these slanderous comments about my avarice, I'll let you keep wondering about price.

Well then...
Let's see... Boler runs $2500

$2500 = trailer + some cash...

:hhmm:
$2500-some cash= trailer...

Unless some cash is like... $2000 it is likely more than I can spare this month...

Ryan, I think you should keep your trailer... At least until you've used the boler for a season or so... Or until I get my pay for the last 1.5 years... Long story.

And yeah, my CL skills suck... Only look at it once in a while, when I'm bored.

"He shoots and......misses the net"

I wish the average price of bolers was only 2.5. generally it's between 3 and 4, with a few crappy ones under 3.

Mine needs s***loads work of course, so price greatly reflected that.

I'll take end of thread for a dollar Alex....
