Home at last..... Can't wait to get back!!
Another good time was had down in Disney OK. Before I get heading down what happened I’d like to thank a few for various reasons:
Todd for the use of his big tent and stove. It got cold Saturday night.
Jobe for a number of things. Spotting when things got difficult on the trails. Mechanical suggestion/directions when my rag joint ripped. Strapping me up Little Blue.
Butler and Peggy for having the guts to ride in my tinker can. You are brave (crazy) people.
Though this year had less carnage, swimming and cartwheels, there was plenty of puckering moments.
Thursday we played above the stair steps, below the main dam/spillway. I did make it up on top of a rock I probably had no business being on. I had to do a 30 point turn to get lined up to get down. I almost made it up Little Blue this year. A front locker would have made a big difference. I almost flopped, tail over top. I dropped off a loose rock ledge. I failed to notice that rigs that attempting to come up had dug holes at the base of the ledge. Needles to say, immediately following the sudden stop, my rear tires came off the ground. Pucker!
Friday was eventful. Mr. Butler got to wheel for about 5 minutes before he got an oil leak developed from a front drive line clearance issue (as seen). Rod, my father-in-law was having carb issues on his Samurai. Brandon, my brother-in-law identified the need of a new rear axle parts. I did identify a new water fording depth for my Samurai. I didn’t suck any water into the engine. I don’t know how. Just glad I didn’t. I made it through. Only effects were the distributer did get some water in it. Pulled off the cap and shot some WD-40 in it. Sorry for the wet shoes Mr. Butler. That’s what I get for following rigs that are bigger than I.
Saturday we tooled around watching others beat, bang, and flop their rigs. Went to the drivers raffle hosted by Trail Worthy Fab. I won a i-something or another. Todd was the big winner. He walked away with car radio, battery box and a DVD. Someone, or two, did make it up Bounty Hill. That was cool to watch.
I didn’t take many pictures. I’m working to up load them in the near future.
I’m already planning to attend BMR 2014. I think it will happen on or around 14-16 March 2014, if I had to guess.
