i just turn on the propane lantern for a few minutes , after that its to hot in there to keep it on.

I just snuggle a little closer to my wife. ;)

Lowes had the 200 sq.ft buddy heaters on sale for $35 and the larger 400sq.ft heaters for $50 tonight. If there are any left in a week they usually drop the price another 50%. I picked up a ventless gas log set normally $350 for $65 tonight. I'm thinking outdoor gas fire pit.

Wow. You must live south where the winter is almost over! We are not even into our biggest snow months here in Colorado until March/April...doubt any of that will be on sale here any time soon.

On cold nights I boil some water and fill up my water bottle with it. Make sure the lid is good and tight, and toss it in the foot of my sleeping bag.. I have yet to be uncomfortable in the rough.

dragging an ear of corn through a barn dance has yielded the best results---it's called trolling for hogs.
all this comming from an old chubby chaser?

Anyone heard anything new about when the Zodi Hot vents are going to be available again? I have seen some vendors saying March on their web sites but still none around? I really want one of those things!

I just placed my order for a 54"x60" heating pad.The pad I ordered is the same width as the medium Maggiolina AirLand mattress, and only about 1' short.I will just pull it down to the feet end, and not worry about heating underneath the pillow area.
Link?
A few years back I bought a pad for my medium Airland and it was to narrow.
The place selling them told me they discontinued the larger size like you bought.

After some testing on a trip to Michigan's UP in October (wasn't bad by Keweenaw standards), I can say we're really happy with our Mr Heater Buddy.

We have a sleeper conversion I built in the back of our 80. A DAC tailgate tent screens out the bugs, although there were few left after the first freeze. Over the tailgate area, we erect an 8x10 canopy.

I built a L-shaped bracket out of wood to help keep the Buddy upright. A couple of screws at the top of it provides a place for the Buddy's built-in wall mount openings to latch onto. The sorta crappy pics below show it in action.

Serendipitously, the bracket makes a great protector for the Buddy's grille when it's detached and reversed. You can also throw some weight on it to help keep it even more stable if the folks stumbling around in your tent or ice house are even clumsier than mine.;)

We mostly used the Buddy on its high setting. But we've got a mod to do to the DAC tailgate tent that will make the canopy a little tighter that should allow us to run on low. Fuel consumption is already very low, even on when set on high.

Just this week, I was building and varnishing a new chuck box. It's turned a little colder here, so I took the Buddy, ran the hose out the overhead door of my small (12x16) shop, and fired up the Buddy. Worked great! This is definitely going to be nice to use if I have any emergency winter repairs to do in the garage, too.

Anyway, pics below of the bracket I made to help keep the Buddy upright and stable.

So it's back on the market again. Hope they fixed the problem with the heat exchanger failing when the fan dies.

Nope. The site stills states "No longer available at this time" for all models.

Looks like not tent safe...

Hunting trip: Missoula teens save dads, grandpa after carbon-monoxide poisoning

Three gents gave themselves carbon monoxide poisoning in a tent. They were using a propane fired heater, but the articles don't tell the type or brand.

Although my Mr. Heater has a low-oxygen shutoff, I never trust it enough to fall asleep with it on. It's just not worth the risk of some part malfunctioning and dying like that.

That said, I used it just last weekend again and was thrilled with how well it does. These things are incredible.
