Anyone know where to get duvel for less than $15 a four pk of 12oz? These price hikes are killin me.

Have you tried Specs? They're usually cheapest, then Central Market.

Speaking of Specs, they have a holiday 12 pack from Big Sky Brewing on sale for $10. Includes Moose Drool and their Big Sky IPA, and some other good stuff.

Hmmm. I'll try Specs. Heb is $10 for a 330 ml bottle. I'll try moose drool over the holiday week. Asked for it at central market but no joy.

Hey, shifting gears...do you know who the best cruiser engine repair shop is in austin? I was thinking of taking my 40 to landcruiser specialists.

We're violating thread rules here, but the best/only Land Cruiser shop in Austin is Land Cruiser Specialist, Edwin Kincaid. He's honest and knows his way around old Cruisers. Only other option is Bearden Automotive. They work on all Toyotas including Cruisers, staffed only by certified Toyota Master Techs, and they ain't cheap.

Back on topic, enjoyed Deschutes Obsidian Stout last night. Fine winter brew, excellent with moose chili.

Thanks Lee,

I will definitely call them. Sorry for making you violate the rules.

Moose chili huh? Can't find that at central market I'm guessing. I'll keep notes on your beer suggestions and get to them when I hit specs next time.

Ok then staying on topic....best beergarden out there? I used to live a few block from the draft house off 45th and medical. Is/was my favorite place, but I moved last year so now I'm trying to find a walkable tavern near 183/spicewood springs. I also go downtown every now and then with my wife for a good brew. Gingerman is great, but what else is new?

Moose came from my son in Canada, from last month's hunt. Vacuum packed and sent in dry ice from B.C.

I'm unaware of any walkable pubs in your hood. You might check out Dig Pub in Cedar Park. Nice place, probably 50 craft beers on tap.

Speaking of moose, I think you'll like Moose Drool. It's an American style brown ale from Montana. Very smooth.

I'll try it this Christmas. My brothers-in-law enjoy new brews, and this year it will be Moose Drool.

One of my Navy buddies live in Bozeman, Montana. Flies air ambulance up there. Goes Elk Hunting a lot...I wonder what Elk chili or Bear chili tastes like.

Is Big Sky beer available in San Antonio? Where could I find it.

We only got Big Sky brews in Austin last year. Before that I used to bootleg it back from Colorado several times a year, usually 4-6 cases in the back of a 40. :grinpimp:

Specs in Austin was the first to carry Big Sky beers, and there's at least one store in San Antonio. That's probably your best bet. It's on DeZavala, just off IH-10. Not too far from the airport, if you're flying.

Looks like a good way to get rid of the left lean of the 40. I think I found it at a place called central market.

Yes, Central Market carries Big Sky brews. I forgot they had a store in SA.

I stopped by Brew Ha Ha Homebrew Supply today. They have a bunch of Brewer's Best extract kits in stock and various grains and yeasts. It will be nice to have a place in town to pick up things like sanitizer. I didn't have much time to look, but I think it will be nice.

Be going down good tonight!

And that is what she said.
