Be honest, do you like the FJ Cruiser.......

I'd buy an FJ in a second though. My wifes back end isn't what it once was either, but I still love her to death.

An FJ is the next vehicle I would consider. Better gas mileage and just as capable. More for the former than the latter.

So far it’s been great…but a few things really bugged me and a few still do.

1) Hated the door chimes…already de-chimed them
2) Didn’t like the badges…already de-badged it, no more FJ CRUISER or TOYOTA symbols
3) Rear passenger windows need to open…working on a solution for that
4) Fresh-air/recycled-air button will not stay in the recycle mode it. I drive about 15 miles to work and it switches to fresh-air continually, I select it and it goes back to fresh; I do this about 10 times during my drive…this driver me crazy…I hate the smell if I’m behind a diesel.
5) The doors don't auto-lock when put in gear.

Any suggestions?

on your #4 comment: if you hold the recycling button 5 seconds it will not return to fresh air.

#4 now fixed...thanks.
The list is getting shorter.

^^^ Nice Idea !...

I hate that if I double hit the fob to unlock all doors, and I get interupted on the way (wifed), the dang' thing locks itself back up after a few minutes....

I loved the FJ's looks since they came out but was torn between it and an Xterra. Then I won an eBay auction for a great deal on a '06 Grand Cherokee which turned out to be a lemon so I sold it when I was going overseas. So I finally bought a new FJ in cavalry blue last month and have managed to put 220 miles on the speedo so far--the joys of living in the city and riding a bike to work--I'm loving it so far and look forward to driving out to Utah soon. My other car for the past two years is a '78 Corolla Sport Coupe, so this new rig seems extra nice.

odometer, not speedometer.

We looked at them when the wife needed a new rig. Did'nt work for us. s***ty visibility, ugly, no 4 doors was the deal breaker. I wanted to like it and could get over the daisy wagon look but its jut not practical with kids. Bought a 4door Jeep (ugh, I know) instead and its growing on me. top comes off a lot more civilized than my old wrangler was.

To Buy or Not to Buy

I have a 2008 TT FJ and I love it. I have heard a few complaints about the blind spots but it doesnt bother me. Im used to using my mirrors since i drive semi truck occationally for work. I have also heard complaints about the rear windows not opening. I dont ride back there so no problems there either.

I've had mine over 5 years now and its just a fresh as when I drove it off the dealer lot.

Every car has flaws as well as those little things that makes one "love" a car. Yet, after 5 years of use and abuse, I'd do it again.

Would I rather it have a diesel, back seat windows that open, a solid axle up front, as well as other "little" things, sure. But, those things didn't stop me then nor would they now.
