On the comment about the Costco variant being lower quality, that’s been my experience. My lead acid 24F for the FZJ has not lasted more than a year with Florida heat. I don’t have any parasitic draws and have a new OEM alternator. I am on the second battery now and it is going bad.

What really convinced me were my batteries for my military generator. They are a pair to run in series and have also each died after a year. The Costco warranty is great but it’s not worth the reliability issue for me.

If I lived in Florida I would Wrap the Battery in an Insulator. I have 4 Costco Interstates in 4 Toyotas and not a Single Failure. Never had a Premature Failure. But I think the Voltage Regulators on Toyotas are Likely the best Money can Buy.
