Barrett Lake Trail QUESTION

A couple of my buddies are heading up to Barrett Lake trail this coming weekend. One has a SAS Tacoma and the other a 40 on 37's.

They asked if I wanted to come and the first question I asked was if I could make it in my 100? I have never ran/ been on this trail. Ive heard that its awesome!!

Anyone with insight or trail users have any input??? Much appreciated!

My 100 mods and specs are on listed below......

Thanks!

My first guess was that you'd be too wide for even the gatekeeper, but according to Shotts, a 100 is 77 inches wide. IIRC, the gatekeeper is 82.

The real question is whether you'd be comfortable taking your 100 to the rubicon. If not, you probably won't enjoy taking the 100 through obstacles you're likely to find on Barrett.

Have a look at Barrett Lake Trail for some pictures of the trail as well as some video links.

If you go, be sure to bring a camera.

If you have to ask...

"The trail is suggested only for the experienced four-wheeler with non-stock, lifted and modified rigs. The trail is limited to narrow short wheel based vehicles. Rating the trail on a 1 to 10 system this trail is a 10. The Barrett Lake Trail is a single path trail there is no bypassing the hard spots."

I haven't been on Barrett in 14 years, back then it was considered as tough as a short Rubicon. It probably hasn't gotten much easier.

Yoter, I did Barrett Lake last year in my 100. The gatekeeper is really tight... actually, the trail is really tight for the 100 but doable. Expect some body damage. Great trail! I think I'd do it again.

The first part of the trail starts off pretty gnarly but I don't think it gets much more difficult than that throughout the trail... It just maintains that level!

It definitely did maintain that level. The most difficult trail I have done for sure. Tested everything. Awesome. Wheeled the last 2 or 3 miles in the dark. Everyone who has done this trail can imagine how fun the rock garden would be at night. New+difficult trail= interesting. Everything is TIGHT for the 100!!! I always love pushing the 100 and seeing what it can really do.

Pics to come!

All skid plates, sliders and bumpers took a HUGE beating. They held up just like they should. Thank you slee!! Got a good size dent right at my line x line. I think I should be able to pound it out if I take the panel off. Not too worried about it. Not bad for what the trail is. Could of had a lot more.
