i should have been more clear regarding the lift components. i picked up ironman 2 inch medium springs and ome shocks. after the spring install, i gained 2 1/2 up front and about 3.5 in the back. mind you i got all the back seats out and that brought it up by a whole inch in stock form. i have not driven it yet but maybe i should before going ahead with caster adjustment.

i went through almost all the pics in the 80 registry thread and i like something like this. i think it looks like a well balanced rig.


but i still cant make up my mind. :mad:

Personally, start off with a basic setup of what you think is the minimum requirement for what you want to achieve and wheel it for a bit. See how it responds and what needs adjusting. It will likely take you over a year of regular use to figure out what works and what doesn't (realistically more).

It's always easy to keep adding money and parts to it later :D

sounds like geat advice but i guess i forgot to mention i will only be driving this rig for a year or so before the ultimate camping rig is done.:grinpimp:


you know i have done my share of driving so i do know what works and based on driving it in stock form, i think it would take very little to make it perfect. its peer pressure thats making it a hard dessision.:D


i was going to the tires store this morning but still undecided. LOL. with the other rig, the choices are easy. its either michelin or michelin.

hahahha. i used to say another 6 months twice a year. at least this time i played it a bit safer.:p what sucks is that things will even get further back with all the time spend on the new rig and ofcourse going out and playing. but at least i will appreciate the advantages even more when its done.:D
 
well got the tires and wheels and tested her out today. perfect for what i need it for. here is a mandatory waterfall/flex posing pic.

thanks. no rubbing at all and she flexes very will even with the heavier springs and front and back sway bar. they are 33x12.5 (305/70/16)

i was just going to say where it was but now its a supper secret. LOL. ok i'll give some hints. its by the beaver dams as seen below.

got started on building a rear bumper and spare tire carrier. progress is slow. i chose to cut the back end of the frame off as it was getting in the way.
