What de-greaser should be used? Im thinking of just pulling the boots back, spray de-greaser, grease the joints and pull boots back over. And use @pfran42 clamp kit i bought.
I'd get OEM boot kit, if you' like to replace included measured amount of CV bearing lube.

Can of degreaser from NAPA, high pressure water, high pressure air and then lube & boot before rust has a change to start.

Best practice: Replace differential to axle snap ring and oil seal, along with wheel hub flange to axle snap ring.

IIRC: Point diff to axle snap ring opening (gap) down during front drive shaft installation.

Why do yall replace the boot? I replaced the whole cv axle and got also got a lifetime warranty through my mechanics parts dealer for no additional cost beomg that he's my uncle, he said it was a cheaper smarter way to go.

Ya I got lucky, I'm suspect though because I replaced my passenger side cv this time last summer and it now has a tear in it

Replacing front drive shaft (CV) faster and easier than rebooting, but OEM is much more expensive part wise.

DIY: I can think of two reason to replace boot(s) with factory; Torn or To get measured amount of factory lube.

Note: Some members just buy off the shelve CV lube and add unmeasured amount.
