wrongway around, I hope you do come out for the next meeting, and this doesn't turn you off. Everyone is going to have a difference in opinion from time to time, and usually it gets hashed out, then everyone moves on.

BYOB and shoot the sh#! Meet like minded people, and share ideas and interests. Just introduce yourself, everyone is pretty welcoming. There is usually a bunch that meet at the Golden Spike before hand for dinner, just at the other end of the block from EBI, and has a cold beer and wine store there too. At the meeting we talk about everything from trips, to planning events, and what's going on in the 4wd community. There is also raffel prizes, tempting uh????

I have no issue with both threads being deleted at all. GG There will be no whining from me about any 'censorship', I think both sides of the issue have been heard and that was the aim.

it boils down to personal preference. People can recommend to you what they like and don't like. You may have different experiences where ever you go.
I personally cannot afford someone else to work on my cruiser. So I do the work myself. I wish money wasn't an option but yet again I would probably own a HZJ77 and an HZJ79 in that case.

I feel bad for ATEB. But I John from Radd cruisers has not let me down. In this day and age with the internet you have to research your prices. I will always go to where its going to cost me less to my door.

Me -- well I just wheel as much as I can (38 days in 2010, including 2 weeks in Moab, 2 weeks Mackenzie) and I stay out of these emotional pissing contests. I got my truck from Outback Imports, and ATEB have been good to me, untill that changes I will not change my mind about them. I make mistakes and other do too.

To me cruisers are too expensive (cost/km way too high) for use as daily drivers and a waste of machinery for that mundane purpose. But to be used for they were meant for -- they are very affordable even if you pay too much once in a while.

You guys need to get out of the house more often and re-bond with your rigs.

I just read this whole thread cause I heard of it through the grapevine...
Unfortunately I dont have the time or energy to say how much I respect and support ATEB, John and Philip are two of THEE most stand up businessmen out there and I could write volumes on.
My truck has been in twice this year for some major upgrades and repairs and there is no one in Western Canada that can even come close to having their knowledge of JDM's and diesel engines. I trust them completely and then a little bit more

You guys that have burned your bridges with them should watch out, one day be it sooner or later you WILL wish you could casually drive up there and pick their brains or have them solve a problem that up to 5 other shops couldn't diagnose. seriously

I have spent more than a few hours in there with the guys as they were working on customers vehicles and to see them effortlessly chat and work with amazing speed is something to behold.

John enthusiastic grin as he explains why certain bolts NEED to be torqued to exactly a certain spec or his ability to get to the bottom of wiring issues...

Like I say i dont have time to say all that I want but I will say dont be afraid to visit ATEB, even if it is just to pick the brains...

And dont forget to remember how much it costs to run a four bay shop in this part of the lower mainland, thats the reason that parts get marked up and thats the reason labour rates are what they are.

Now that is one point I can't argue! (lol) Last time I actually 'wheeled', I had to drive 3000 km. to do it.
