I'm not 100 percent sure but I believe they are.

Plugging in part number 43110-60400 to toyotapartsdeal.com it says the housing is good for 93 and 97. Not sure how accurate this is since when you select the 93 Land Cruiser it asks if the motor is the "8 cylinder 4.5 liter" or "6 cylinder 4.0 liter."

99% positive the housings are the same.
Same goes for the carrier assembly.
I would be surprised if electrical connections did not change however.

I'm also pretty sure they are the same through the range, but not positive.
I'm going to be swapping some axles around, and don't want an "Oh
!" moment...
If the actuator connectors differ, that's easy enough to confirm before install.

I haven't noticed anything different about the one under her 97 and other 93s we've had.
Connectors for the actuators should be the same, Toyota is pretty good for that.
For example, I pulled a locked diff from an 10' Tacoma and it dropped right into my 97' locked housing in the 4Runner and the connectors for the actuators were still the same.
