ARB Rear Bumper installed

Departure / approach angle is an issue but from the various ARB posts there doesn't seems to be much improvement if any in this respect. Sturdiness would be much improved I guess but is that worth the penalty in looks and weight.

According to a guy who mod his LC200 with ARB bumpers + OME shock, the approach angle improvement is not so much.

Approach angle : 30 deg --> 34.5 deg
Departure angle : 20 deg --> 32 deg

not quite much.

[QUOTE}I'd love to see pictures of the factory winch and especially those factory lockers. Are they both front and rear? Can you get a picture of the switch? I'd love to see the switch Toyota uses for factory lockers in a 200-series.

The diff lock switch is the same as that used on the 100. There was a thread a while ago with someone who had posted a link to a 200 on Ebay with a rear locking diff. The switch goes below the cdl and trac off switches. It is possible to use this switch to control ARB lockers. If you are running front and rear lockers then you can use the switch used in the 80s.

That's a pretty big difference actually. For one, the 4.5* approach increase is from the dead center. When you approach a steep incline, you try to avoid hitting it straight on. With the ARB, you get a lot more on one side for the tire to grab. If that makes sense...it does if you look at a picture.

The departure is quite substantial. Those numbers are also just with the lift and no aftermarket bumper, which does improve this as well.

good job.......looks great!

Apologies guys but I have trouble finding a winch / diff lock / wheel carrier equipped 200 at any of the dealers I've visited. Most of them driving around here (an LC is about as common as sliced bread) are the luxury VXR version. I'll keep on looking though and will post pics asap.

Thats common in the middle east.

dtt255, could we get this and your bumper install put in the sticky section? your guys' install pics are extremely valuable to those of us getting ready to make the plunge.

Professional install, took PATIENCE!

I am brand new to the 200 forum, bought one this weekend, hate the looks but love the performance, the bumpers are a first priority, you did an outstanding job of maintaining the factory trinkets but adding looks and performance

That's good news about the spare. I think it was that I'm running 275/70R18, which is slightly larger than most.
:

I'm running the same tires and it is tight with the factory bumper (had to take off the little alignment part underneath towards the front). Not sure what sbly was running.

Can anyone confirm that the 275/70R18 will fit with the ARB rear bar (no carriers). I can't imagine ARB making this so there would be less room, but wanted to ask.

Thought I would post the pics of mine installed. I really think it looks great with the black. The 33 inch spare fits fine.
