I feel like I just got sent to the principal's office for looking at the SI swimsuit issue.....
And I really didn't see anything yet...
My understanding is that the early Aquala tubs had a real bad issue with the hardtop installation. 2nd gen fit fine, and mounted the same as stock... so if you have a later rendition, you should not have any issues with using a stock hardtop.

guess I need the current owner to tell if its a first or second generation tub.
Do you know anyone in KC that has done it before? Pretty confident I can royally screw it up.

I've got a 2nd gen tub. but I have never tried to put my hardtop on, it looks like it would mount though

The tub is model #4005 purchased 1/16/2002. Same model # as is listed on their website, so I'm guessing it is a 2nd generation tub.
If you can read between the lines above, the majority of us got tired of the hardtop. I used to daily drive my 40 for years, when the good weather hit the top was off till winter. I really isn't a super difficult job but will take some patience and a nutzert tool to put a top on an aqualu tub. It's all about getting it in place then bolting it together.
