Mo, i'm looking to sell the iPad Air 64gb for $700. What I truly want is to turn it into a monitor/screen/gps for the car, I need to figure out a way to get video feed from exterior cameras into the ipad or any other tablets. Cam in front to see what you are about to crawl over or manuver and back up cam is nice to have. Anyone know how to do such a thing? How about using some cameras from old cell phones? That would be awesome bc they are so tiny and have great picture quality.
I'm in Orange. Big screens are nice, i was going to use mi mini ipad which i thought was the perfect size but after playing with different configurations i found controlling the picture/apps on the head unit with an phone or ipod touch was although not perfect, easier and i could use the internet for youtube, netflix, etc. Also, the phone comes with gps unlike my ipad. Now I also have hands free and a pretty oem looking switch on the dash which turns either camera on the head unit without having to mess with the stereo controls. PM me if you would like to meet.
What hardware do you use to switch video between the front and rear? I currently have the rear installed and want to do the front? btw, I use ipad + cellular (has GPS hardware built-in) for GPS. No data plan is needed with offline map apps such as copilot and navfree. I do tether from my iPhone if I want traffic updates?
I have a Y rca connector for the video signal and then simply use this cole hersee on/off/on switch to send power to either camera. Switch also sends the "reverse" signal to head unit so it plays feed automatically. It required a couple diodes but is very simple to wire with the stereo.
The head unit will still display rear camera feed automatically when shifting to reverse.
They are picking up Monday, tracking info will likely come in Tuesday or Wednesday. I will definitely work on tracking info, I understand it's holiday season, I volunteered to put myself in the back of the line for this particular reason.
hey I just want to make sure..... you haven't shipped the Canadian bumpers have you?? Just a little confused is all, I have a freight package coming from TST overlands and he said CBI offroad, while yes I am working on a new rear bumper with them, I dont know why it would be shipping when we arent getting anything done until January for it hahaha
I have shipped with CBI before through TST so if you perhaps they just pulled my previous history
**edit** just spoke with TST again, they messed up and said I had shipment coming, their computer syste, glitched out and fired off a bunch of random shipments from this year lol
Hello,
I know the post said the first group would be ready by the 9th and the second by the 15th or 18th. Does that mean both groups will be shipped out together? Also if it is cheaper to ship to a business instead of residential let me know so I can send an alternate address. Thanks
Bulhas, that is not the bumper.
Marty, they will not be shipped together.
ab1985, the number to call is 949-295-0042, that's his cell phone.
I spoke to him Tuesday night, he assured me the bumpers will ship Wednesday, I text him last night and early today for confirmation with no reply. I called him through out the day with no answer. He said his iphone fell off the fork lift and the screen broke, he also said he will call the first 5 on wednesday, but I'm assuming no one got a phone call? I'm gonna head to the shop tmr and straighten this out.
Hopefully this guy is paying attention. Honestly, it really bugs me to pay 100% up front (materials, labor, AND profit) in these deals, but what are you going to do. It's too bad the guys that come up with the great ideas for our trucks don't have much business sense. Normally I would let this slide but I recently had $600+ out with a vendor for several months unexpectedly. I just don't have the patience for it anymore.
I talked to him today and he said I believe some bumpers had shipped out. But he didn't say when. He wasn't really clear. Very vague. He took my name and number and said he will go to his office and find out more info and call me back later but he never did.
I received a call from AOE this morning explaining they'd had some delays with their laser cutter. They said my bumper would ship Monday the 23rd. Appreciate the call. Hopefully will get time to install the bumper while I'm home for the holiday.
