If you only had Saturday and half a Day Sunday to explore Anza Borrego...what would you recommend as far as running the best trails? Anybody care to join up this weekend?....Thinking about heading out Fri Night....

Lower Coyote Canyon is on the list.....

Sheep Canyon? I don't think I've heard of that one...Is it in the area near Canyon Sin Nombre? and Fish Creek? It is my first time there....my buddy is going as well, (in his Touareg...pretty much stock but for some 31" AT tires he just got for trail use...) Again, short invite, but would be nice if some of you could make it....

Bluetribal, I was thinking Fish Creek Wash as another must see....Want to do the Diablo Drop Off.....(any of you driven it up the hill? supposed to be difficult to drive it going up?)

You can get a really good map at the ranger station it's this one from Wilderness Press
I think it is $9???
I believe Drop Off is supposed to be one way (Down) But you shouldn't have a problem going up it. Not sure about your friend...

We ran a completely stock '06 4runner DOWN Diablo (I think it's one way down also) as well as Coyote Canyon to Sheep Canyon, so it is doable in a stock Toureg. Very careful spotting and placement of rocks will be necessary. We had the best of spotters in Cruiserdrew, so keep that in mind if you're not comfortable spotting folks.

I meant going up it for the Toureg. Oh and spotters, rocks? What For? Piece O' Cake....
These are from 11 months ago.

Here's a map to get you started.

You could do old faithful: Canyon Sin Nombre > Arroyo seco del Diablo > Diablo Dropoff > Fish Creek Wash > Sandstone Canyon > Split Mtn. for day 1

Next morning hit up Coyote Canyon

I have GPS coordinates for most of these trails if you need them.

I'd love to join you, but I'm saving all my energy for Borregofest the following weekend.

Sandstone just gotta be the most beautiful for me....

going up the drop off

I've made it up the drop off but I had the lockers on. I think it changes from time to time as people try to get up it , digging the pits deeper.
