Anza Borrego Friday 11/20 anyone?

I'm taking a few mental days off from work next week and want to head out to AB next Friday the 20th if anyone is interested.

I'm thinking of starting at canyon sin nombre - going to diablo drop off and into fish creek - hiking to the wind caves if it's not too hot. From fish creek we can head over to Ocotillo Wells and take several trails to get to Borrego Springs as the spirit leads.

Basically I just want to get out of town to enjoy the desert, take some pictures and relax.

As I mentioned to you I am back to working Fridays since I am at a new company so no vacation days for me right now.

Had a great time on Friday with Derrick, his brother Matt, and my wifes cousin Vern. We started at Canyon sin Nombre and made our way over to Arroyo Seco del Diablo and to the Diablo drop off. Once in Fish creek wash we went to the wind caves where we hiked up to check out the view and the Wind Caves.

From the Wind Caves we headed further down Fish creek wash to find a place to eat lunch. On the way we ran into some guys in a very nice diesel 70 series and a built 60 series from Utah who had come through Joshua Tree down to AB. We ate lunch at the Fish Creek primitive camp where the TTORA club was just setting up for a big weekend.

From the camp we headed over to the slot to complete our day and do a little more hiking and site seeing in the slot canton. The day was absolutely beautiful and it was nice to get out before the Turkey day rush.

Yeah, we had a great time out there. The weather was perfect, practically had the place to ourselves, and great entertainment - the girl in the jeep...."just gas it!" LOL, sorry, no pics of that but here are some that I have. Enjoy!

Wow I need to get out of the truck next time I am in Fish Creek becaus I have never been to the mud or wind caves or the cool looking hiking slot.
You guys should cruised by Sand Stone Canyon to see if it's still closed.

It's still closed, and doubtful it will ever re-open.
