I'm in need of a new headliner for my '84. I see 2 option at this point, SOR or the CruiserCorps one. Anyone have any experience with either of them and is it is a DIY project or does it need to go to a specialist if you want it done right? From what I have read the windshield needs to come out to install the headliner.

Thanks for any input,

Jeff

You may have received the CruiserCorps (CC) headliners email today as I did. I used the SOR vinyl headliner and experienced tight tolerances for a good install. The windshield dId need to be removed for the install and I would imagine a correct install with the CC product is also needed. Benefit of the vinyl vs cloth is the cleaning factor. How bad is the current headliner?

Exactly, I was getting some emails about it. They are less expensive then SoR but am concerned with quality. Right now I have no current headliner and a cracked windshield that has to come at some point anyway.

I did see Amayama having the stock headliner is stock. It was pricy. But I recently read a thread here where some or maybe most prefer the aftermarket vinyl headliner as easier to clean and maybe more durable.
Have you bought from Amayama before? I haven't heard of them but it seems like going to a dealer, are they cheaper?

I had the CruiserCorp one installed into my 60 last year when I redid the entire rig. Came out pretty good and I am glad I paid someone else to do it.
Quality seemed good? Did is seem to be too much work or just better left to a interior specialist?

Quality seems good thus far but it has only been a short time. It looked like a job better left to a specialist and it only cost me $350 to get it installed. I ll snap pic tomorrow when it is light out and post up.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

Not sure if I have ever ordered from them. But I assume they are similar to Partsouq. They are located overseas UAE, Japan, Aus. Like Partsouq they will probably beat U.S.A. dealer prices but you really have to compare prices AND the shipping rates to see if it's worth it.

My main point was that I saw a TOYOTA HEADLINER available from Toyota. Not trying to convince you to order from Amayama.

Here is some images of the Cruiser Corp headliner I bought and a pic of my rig.

Guarantee you it’s not in stock. Headliners have been discontinued for eons.
CC states it’s factory spec and made in-house. They are recovering my seats and some updating in their shop. I’m dropping it off there and purchasing their stuff and then let them install. The headliner from my understanding is a bit tricky

How ya like those gull windows? Almost got em but waited + grabbed OEM Sliding windows instead.
so far so good! love not having to deal with the swing out to grab something. glass is a little wavy.

Is there a way to install it without going under the windshield? Not digging having to remove the windshield every time you want to do something to the roof. Maybe put an additional trim piece to hide a messy edge?
