Has anyone installed the High-Beam version of what Taco refers to?
@Taco2Cruiser -How much fiddling did it require to properly aim your low beams with this setup?
I don't mind the occasional brights-flash, but I also don't want to feel like I'm constantly annoying on-coming traffic. What say yoooo?
When I put them in, the IPFs have a significantly cleaner cut off line that was just slightly below the factory bulbs. So they where dead even as the factory bulb was dispersing more light around the edges. So no adjustment was needed.
I ended up adjusting them down because I have 2722 rear springs and was sagging to much in the back with my camping load, so the front end was coming up, which means the lights came up and were blinding people.
Now that I have 2723 springs on the way, I'll bring the IPFs back to factory position as the rear end will lift higher, and bring the front end aim down again.
So that was a long way of saying that if someone is on stock suspension, or has kept the front and rear rake stance of the stock suspension, then no adjustment is needed. If someone has taken the rake out with either a front spacer lift, or has tried to level the truck out in some way, absolutly need to adjust the bulbs down.
These things are bright and clear to say the least, even with knowing they are aimed away from other drivers, I still get flashed.
For off-roading, when I went to the Lone Star Jamboree with BudBuilt, before trail runs, guys were turning in their LED light bars and what not before the trail ride, when I turned my low beams on it just dominated. Then since 3 light bars per bro rig must be turned off for trail rides as you are right behind someone and you don't blind them, only I had real light. The 100 Series in front of me asked if I could turn by light bar off, I said they were just my low beams. The look on his face was like "where do I get them."
I like them, are they going to replace the Stedi lights I recommended to you, probably not, but they are going to be a significant upgrade to the road driving portion of your trips. Because the "highway" is still a terrain that the truck needs to be built for. Not just off-road trails, and this is coming from the guy who only off-roads his 200.
Plus about a 1/3 the energy used per bulb than the factory halogens. More power to go to the winch or just get the battery charged back up.
