Pretty sure they're all made in China. You probably just missed it. Says Engineered by IPF Japan Made in China". We'll know once the others get theirs in. I grabbed the photo below from the net.

I just ordered the 341HLB H4 for my 80 so I can go quad H4, I'll try to compare them with the Philips Ultinon H4 LEDs I currently have

Yeah I would like to know for sure also. That box looks completely different from what mine came in. Can you take a picture of the back of the bulb like I did in the earlier post?

I'd be interested to hear what you say about the Philips. I put those in my brother's 1st gen tacoma, and they were good, but far from IPFs. Not a good cut off line, and some irregular hot spots.

That box is for the 341HLB so maybe that's why it looks different? Here are the photos of my bulb. I'll take a photo of the box later today. Yup the Philips are okay compared to halogen and the HID that I had, cutoff line is good but there were some hotspots in the pattern below the cutoff.

HRTROB, how long have your IPF LEDs lasted so far? If they can last 3-5 years, that would be awesome and I would be inclined to buy it!

Well, I stand corrected. That's sad. I still think they are awesome, just don't like everything being made in China.

It did take me a minute to actually look at the bulb. Was totally checking out that 4.5L diesel. I know a guy who will trade you a 5.7L gas monster. How does 400 hp and 12 miles to the gallon sound?

Has anyone installed the High-Beam version of what Taco refers to?

@Taco2Cruiser -How much fiddling did it require to properly aim your low beams with this setup?

I don't mind the occasional brights-flash, but I also don't want to feel like I'm constantly annoying on-coming traffic. What say yoooo?

I've had a pair of IPF 351HLB in my E46 for a year now, but they are on the fogs so they don't get used often and the car is not a daily driver. The one in the high beams of my 200 are only a month old. Will know how long they will last once I get the 341HLB H4 for low beams of the 80 that I use as a daily driver

Same here, sucks that everything is made in China nowadays.

Is that 12mpg in the city? I get the same consumption with the 1VD but that's in Manila traffic. V8 gasoline cars here only get 7mpg in the city. FJ Cruiser with the 4.0 V6 about 9mpg. Diesel here is about 80 cents cheaper per gallon than regular unleaded so nobody here wants the gasoline V8s :)

When I put them in, the IPFs have a significantly cleaner cut off line that was just slightly below the factory bulbs. So they where dead even as the factory bulb was dispersing more light around the edges. So no adjustment was needed.

I ended up adjusting them down because I have 2722 rear springs and was sagging to much in the back with my camping load, so the front end was coming up, which means the lights came up and were blinding people.

Now that I have 2723 springs on the way, I'll bring the IPFs back to factory position as the rear end will lift higher, and bring the front end aim down again.

So that was a long way of saying that if someone is on stock suspension, or has kept the front and rear rake stance of the stock suspension, then no adjustment is needed. If someone has taken the rake out with either a front spacer lift, or has tried to level the truck out in some way, absolutly need to adjust the bulbs down.

These things are bright and clear to say the least, even with knowing they are aimed away from other drivers, I still get flashed.

For off-roading, when I went to the Lone Star Jamboree with BudBuilt, before trail runs, guys were turning in their LED light bars and what not before the trail ride, when I turned my low beams on it just dominated. Then since 3 light bars per bro rig must be turned off for trail rides as you are right behind someone and you don't blind them, only I had real light. The 100 Series in front of me asked if I could turn by light bar off, I said they were just my low beams. The look on his face was like "where do I get them."

I like them, are they going to replace the Stedi lights I recommended to you, probably not, but they are going to be a significant upgrade to the road driving portion of your trips. Because the "highway" is still a terrain that the truck needs to be built for. Not just off-road trails, and this is coming from the guy who only off-roads his 200.

Plus about a 1/3 the energy used per bulb than the factory halogens. More power to go to the winch or just get the battery charged back up.

What is the part number for the fog light bulb? Has anyone done all three sets? is it worth the money?
Thanks
Rick

I am also interested in improving my fog light brightness and also a yellow/amber filter or a real tinted lens.

I used my Bosch (100w each) on previous vehicles on flat land, logging roads, and also fog and rain. Must be adjusted properly! Very helpful at lighting up the deer still off the shoulder of the road heading your way.

Thanks for the reply and forgive me for my ignorance but can either of the H11 bulbs work for the fog light application?

Hey no problem, we're all about helping here on mud. I learned so much from guys on here... everyday.

For low beam, that's a factory bulb of a H11 bulb.
For the fog light, that's a factory bulb of a 9006.
For the high beam, that's a factory bulb of a 9005.

301HLB is the part number you need for the low beam.
151FLB is the part number you need for the fog light bulb.
351HLB is the part number you need for the high beam bulb.

Disclaimer: while the high beam IPF may technically fit the fog light housing, the lumens are very different.
3600 lumens for the headlight bulbs or "HLB" you see at the end of the part number
2700 lumens for the fog light bulbs or "FLB" you see at the end of the part number.

I haven't tested it, as I don't have the factory fog lamps anymore, but I bet it would work. However, if you put a HLB IPF bulb into the fog light housing it may become the worst fog light for fog, as it will throw too much light and reflect a lot back at you.

Now if you didn't care about fog, and just want a lot of light, you may want to put a HLB in the fog light housing. But then again, the HLB fits the high beam housing, and so why not use the high beam bulb for what they are designed for, to throw more light down the road when there is no fog.

The stock 55w fog light is barely bright enough to see the narrow low and wide beam. I will try the HLB in the fog light pos against the stock in the other side. If the bulb aligns properly with the reflector it should throw a slice of light way out there but only across the ground and wide side to side. A good set of fog lights should be used in the fog, rain and heavy snow with HB and LB off. Any stray light above the hood makes it look like a white out.
If I remember correctly, the center of the horizontal fog beam should be 4 inches below the height of the bulb at 25 feet out.

Thank you Toco2, well gathered and written info for a great safety upgrade.

Agreed, thanks to Taco for the info. I'm pretty sure I'm going to order the HLB for my low beams. Taco's post pretty much affirmed how these LEDs are > than the HIDs I was considering. I saw some Youtube videos of HLB lights, and they seem to very bright.

I was driving last night post sun down and was reminded how little output these halogens have.

For those who have ordered, I'm looking forward to the installation pics and feedback.

Mine will be here Friday, though I might not get them in till next week...

Mine will be here Monday. I ordered a set of the low beams and a set of the fog beam. They said i could return the fog set for another low beam if they are not what i wanted; with me paying for return shipping of course.

The IFP LED seem to be exactly what I am looking for - I sure could use the additional lights over the stock low beams.

@Taco2Cruiser - do you know if dust caps fit with these bulbs in place?
