Anyone have late rear wheel cylinders?

PO swapped on the '76 to an NLA domestic replacement.

Not knowing, ordered OE rebuild kits, which won't work.

Can't find the SAE rebuild kits for what's on there.

They're disco city everywhere I've looked, so hoping for new of useable cores to rebuild.

Need all 4 rear cylinders for 8/71 to end (as far as I can't tell) to keep the build going....

Have goods or dollars in trade for parts, packaging, and shipping to Boulder.

Chris,

My parts wagon was born in June of 71. Will they not work? If so, I can have them off this weekend and go out Monday.

Ron,
I don't think so...think being operative.

I have SOR early and, according to their part numbers and every tidbit of info I can find, they're limited to pre-'9/71 production periods.

Oddly, the '76 OE rebuild kit is 15/16" SAE.

The cylinders that were removed are 7/8", which may explain damage to backing plate.

Robbie checked an OE 40 cylinder, and it's cast 7/8" so SAE, too.

Best I can tell, the early are 7/8" and later are 15/16".

Appreciate, but have good early cores and new cylinders (came in a package deal, but planned for '72) and they're the smaller variation.

Can't find domestic anywhere, either.

Have word in with Mel so maybe he had left on part out.

I'll pull one off tomorrow and just take a look, who knows, might be right.

Edit: I have, what I think are 60 cylinders, also. I'll measure and take pictures, tomorrow.

I was once upon a time looking for the correct cylinders (rear) for my 71 with no luck. Luckily I decided to go with a rear disc kit. So I'm just going to let mine leak a little longer.

The cylinder on the later is 15/16th and earlier 7/8" SAE, which is odd.

No way to tell of it's not cast without disassembling and measuring piston, so, I appreciate Ron, but don't think I could ask to disassemble what we know is too early.

If you are suspect of these, just to assure you, I ordered these after cussing my rebuilt multiple times OEM old FJ55 15/16" rear wheel cylinders, and they are OEM Toyota quality and perfect fit... And the correct 15/16" bore for correct brake bias for the FJ55(vs FJ40).

Absolutely worth the price compared to rebuilding a rusty core. Unless your sending them out to get stainless sleeving. Even then I would start with a new set...

got aftermarket from napa...

this is rear ax? only one soft line...and you can get by by unbolting the last hard line strap and letting it hang...
