Up for sale is a set of (4) Tacoma 5 spoke / blade factory OEM rims off my 04 Tacoma. They are in excellent condition complete with center caps. No curb checks or scuffs.

Come with American Prospector SUV 265/75 R16s. Tires have between 5 and 7 32nds of tread, so they are down on life. However, they have worn great for me, and I expect 10K more miles before wear bars are visible and need to be replaced.

I'm looking for $400 CASH on CL, but I'd entertain trades and offers. Located in Memphis, but I travel occasionally. Could work something out.

If you know of anyone looking, please help a college kid out on getting into new shoes for his donk :)

1990 FJ62 FS in Austin

Was someone here looking for a 62? There's a guy here in Austin who's selling his cherry truck due to pressure from his wife. I know the seller and the truck. One of the best looking mostly stock 62's I've ever seen. Here's his ad--He's asking $8750. If any of you guys end up buying it, I'll volunteer to deliver to Mississippi. Any excuse to visit the motherland. :D

Hiya. I am very reluctantly selling my beloved 1990 FJ62. It has 211k miles on it, and is in better mechanical and cosmetic condition than almost any other FJ62 I've seen. I have put countless hours into making it my clean, reliable, daily driver, but my wife has “suggested” that we have a “not truck” for our second car. This FJ62 is in amazing shape and would make anyone happy. When you get down to the list of improvements, I think you'll see why this FJ62 is unique among its peers and worthy of your consideration.
Those of you shopping for an FJ62 know that it's a niche and totally awesome vehicle, made to go anywhere and do anything. Aside from the go anywhere element (neither the previous owners nor I have taken it on anything but dirt roads), I can say that it can do anything: from making other drivers get out of your way when you try to switch lanes, to revving so loud that it set off the car alarm of a total jerk that parked one foot from my driver door in his Corvette then walked off, to carrying dizzying amounts of cargo in the back (even with the rear seat still up), to making your own parking spot at crowded softball field parking lots, and many other uses. It's the preeminent utility vehicle in the world.
It's a fun car, either as a daily driver or as a weekend cruising car or car-based camping vehicle. Websites abound with unlimited configurations of these things equipped for camping, overland expeditions, safaris, rock crawling, mud bogging, etc. It's a seriously fun car to own, and I'll miss crawling into it every morning to drive my 3.5 paved-mile commute to the office.
The Cruiser drives wonderfully. The engine works smoothly from the low end to the top. It cruises along at highway speeds without problem. The transmission shifts very well through the gears and doesn't ever slip or shift erratically. The 4WD system works perfectly -- in low and high ranges. The a/c systems works as you'd want and cools the car down impressively in the summer, especially given how big the interior is. The interior is in fantastic shape, with recently-installed custom floor carpeting, newly upholstered seats, a custom stereo/DVD system, and a totally awesome sound deadening job that keeps the car very quiet on the road. The brakes are also up-to-date and stop the Cruiser just like they're supposed to. I had a Blackstone Labs engine oil analysis done at 206k miles, and the report came back all clean. All-in-all, I don't think that you'll find another FJ62 that compares to it.
Being a Texas FJ62, it's almost totally rust free. There were three small surface rust spots that I grinded away to the bare metal, primed with Rustoleum auto primer, and painted to match the car. All three are in less-visible areas, and I have photos of the work that I did so you can see that I didn't just paint over the rust. The only rust that remains on these rust-prone FJs are pin-hole sized spots on the leading edge of the hood from rock chips. It's the kind of thing that most folks don't worry about, so it wasn't the sort of thing I thought merited a full respray of the hood.
That being said, I've done some significant work to an already nice car and have taken it from a good FJ62 with 197k miles to a great FJ62 with 211k miles. What follows is a list of the mechanical and non-mechanical work that I and two Land Cruiser-only mechanics have done to it over the past two years (Edwin Kincaid at Land Cruiser Specialists in Austin and Randy Suttles at RT Customs in Irving). There may be an item or two that I missed, but I’ve also gone through all my service records and double-checked in order to do my best.
The car is in Austin, and I'm willing to ship it (if you take care of the logistics) or drive a reasonable distance to meet you if you wanna buy it. Feel free to call me if you have any questions or want to meet: 512/560-0676.
Since Craigslist doesn't give you the room to display an appropriate number of pictures, I've set up an online album with a whole bunch of photos.

That dude has the gift of gab for sure.

LOL. He's an attorney. Probably thought he was writing a brief for the supreme court instead of a craigslist ad.

Edited so no surprise attacks!!!! AHHHH!!!!

It is funny, the guy called back my buddy this morning and told him he was having second thoughts. after some probing questions it was revealed that he has had about 20 calls on the truck and could EASILY have gotten his full asking price and more for it.

Yea, that's a great price. So he's back pedaling...

Is your friend going to be able to pick it up or no?

So Carfax pulled on 98 and it had 144,000 miles on it in 2004. No entries after that. This guy said he got it with 120,000 miles and then put 30,000 on it last year.

Another glaring red flag.

The search continues.

Just going to do this local for the next week or so till I find out more about the job situation.

This is a sad day but....

I have owned the truck for 14 months. The engine conversion was done when I got the truck. Here is the sales thread. https://forum.ih8mud.com/vehicles-trailers-sale-wanted/323582-1994-4runner-1kz-te-diesel.html

It is a great truck. The power is there if and when you ever need it and the mileage with the lift and tires is averaging between 20 and 22. That is a mix of driving.
When I am on I20 heading to Shreveport every other week

I do sales for a tire supply company so I am on the road everyday. I have put about 50k miles on the truck since the conversion. I have worked out all the bugs and issues that were there when I got the truck and that came about. Most where minor but with an opposite drive motor and it being a diesel with the vibrations there was some rubbing with hoses and brake lines that had to be corrected.

Since I have gotten the truck I have added:

285/75/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers. They are 34x11 the have put the rpms in the sweet spot for fuel consumpsion and are also a great tire for mixed use.
I have wheeled the truck 2x at Superlift and the truck is amazing in the woods. It just seems to idle up anything.
The wheels are OEM toyota steel wheels that come off the FJ Cruiser. I have a set of 5 wheels 4 Nittos and the spare is a BFG MT.

Lockrite auto locker in the rear.

Few hoses and brake lines.

Pioneer head unit and polk audio speakers.

CB in the ashtray slot

Hood black out.

Yakima roof bar system and fairing.

Custom made sliders and radiator skid plate. The rad skid plate was a must since the factory radiator it hangs down about 2 inches down below frame rail.

Heat wrapped down pipe to keep temps down

Aux transmission cooler

Added OEM cruise control

Radiator was rebrazed and cored due to a pin hole leak and only Toyota red coolant was used.

Husky floor liners

Top Spin precleaner on snorkle

Hella fog lights with yellow filters and clear hella hard plastic covers and a OEM fog light switch

new battery in Nov or Dec I wrote it on the battery but I can't remember. the other battery is just a few years old.

I have only used Toyota filters on the truck and they are easily bought from TRDparts4U.com or any dealer can get them.

I have a spare water pump NIB from Toyota and a few filters.

The reason that I am thinking of selling is that I am only going to take 1 truck out west with me and due to it's size the FJ62 is the truck I will be taking. I have it setup for my camping and offroading needs. I am moving in the next few months since my wife took a job in Phoenix AZ on Nov 1st.

I am really torn about selling it but I will have too.

Know issues:

very slight power steering pump leak. Honestly I think it is just a leak due to the angle of my driveway in Monticello because when the truck was parked at my mothers house during Christmas to new years it didn't move (i was in az) and there was no leak during that period. It sat for a few days this week on a flat surface and no leak.

Front CV's are shot. I am going to put new axles under it when it is sold to give the buyer there choice of parts stores and put the warranty of the axles under there name and I will install them prior of pick up/delivery.

Windshield has gotten to cracks in it in the last few weeks. I can have it replaced locally or I can deduct the cost from selling price. Buyers call on that.

The pictures show the only body issues. It was bad spotting from a buggy driver into a hill at Superlift. It has been to the park 2 times and nothing harder than a 3. From underneath the truck I don't think it had ever been off pavement before. I know the guy I bought the truck from had never taken it and he had just put the lift on it.

I am looking to get $13,500. I think it is a fair price for the truck. I think these days if you can get a half cut you are close to $7k.

It has 222k and some change on the ODO and about 142k on the engine. The interior is as clean as the pictures in the ad.

Let me know what you think. If serious I would be willing to meet somewhere so you could look the truck over.

I really wish the big truck were a little closer in closer in value. Good luck on the sale.
