It's factory powdercoated in gray, but it's a dark gray. It's got plastic pieces that go in the place of the lights, but until I got it and installed it, I wasn't sure if I wanted the lights or the hoop.

WTB: Winch Cable and Roller Fairlead / Steel Hawse

Looking for a new or good, used winch cable and roller fairlead or steel Hawse.

Has anyone taken off steel in favor of synthetic and kept the cable? If so, please let me know.

3/8" x 85' is supposed to fit on the drum.

I have the cable I removed from a 10,000 lb. warn winch and a roller fairlead. I intended to rebuild the winch, but I may not. I can't recall how many feet of cable I have (or the diameter), so I'll look and let you know.

If this doesn't work out I have the cable from an identical winch. I replaced mine with synthetic, but I still have the roller fairlead in place. I could take it off...would give me a good excuse to put a proper hawse fairlead on.

Well, let me know. I've got two winches that need cable, so I may end up trying to get both :o

I checked last night, and the cable is, indeed, 3/8". Now, I just need to pull it out and measure it to see how long it is (that's what she said), unless you're convinced you can cut it and use it that way.

I'm pretty sure it's at least 85', but if you like, I can measure it to make sure...............
 
Found out yesterday that 3/8" may be quite overkill. The 8274 comes equipped with 5/16" at 150. Granted, it will be going on a 9500 winch, but I really doubt it'll be any more powerful than the 8274. The other winch is a 8000, so it'll definitely need 5/16".

That being said, I don't winch too terribly often and it's usually pretty messy when I do. So, maybe run 3/8" on the 9500 and keep looking for 5/16 for the smaller.

With all that being said, let me know if you'd like to get rid of it. Thanks!

I take it this is used cable because you said you were rebuilding the winch? Wanna sell the fairlead, too?
