Anybody Use This Insulator? (1 Viewer)

A ha! Thanks for pointing this out.

Back in the '80's, I designed a carpet system using outdoor carpet and foam. Looked quite good and really quieted the beast down. This stuff might be even better, think I'll order a bunch and give it a try.

I cut insulation myself from the foil backed stuff available from Summit or JCWhitney. That allowed me to work higher up the firewall in the footwells. Noticeably quieter.

I used smaller pieces and glued them down with carpet tape, and then put on top an el cheapo outdoor carpet from the local hardware store.

Doesn't that trap moisture?

I'd be interested to know from those that have used this also. Guess you could Rhinoline/POR/LINEX before...?

I sprayed Duraliner this summer. I live in a very rainy climate so trapped moisture is my enemy. I wondered if the noise would be reduced enough to consider the mat. Everything on the 40 is noisy, I would seriously doubt that the mat would reduce it that much.
