I'm headed up to do some white water rafting with the family next weekend and wanted to do a little wheeling while there. Anyone know of any moderate trails out in the Kern valley. Will be going solo so unfortunately nothing crazy. I just want to put the cruiser to use and enjoy some beautiful scenery. Thanks
Just before the Lake Isabella turn off on Hwy 14 you go through Red Rock Canyon. If you go to the visitor center they have a yellow brochure with some scenery trail rides but I did hear a couple in a Land Rover come back and have a pretty good fish story about one of the trails.
And for the family just past the Red Rock visitor center between the four billboards on Hwy 14 there is a dirt road off to the Rght (East) that will take you to Burro Schmidt Tunnel.
Check out the Jeep trail on Sherman Pass. A few years back, I mountain biked up there and hopped onto the jeep trail to get to the peak and check out the awesome view. A couple of 4x4s cruised up while we were there. It's real close to where you'll be staying in Kernville.
