I have been lurking around here for a while but havn't gotten real involved. I have been wheelin with my old Jeep buddies for the last year and I realized it was time to meet some 80 guys and go wheelin with them. I'm sick of the Jeep guys talking trash. Any 80 guys out here in the IE? I'm up in Forest Falls which is a little outside of Big Bear in the San Berdu mtns. Right now I'm on 315's with factory lockers OME heavies, MAF 30mm spacers and drop brackets, RRO rock sliders, and custom bumpers being fabbed up in my garage now. Will probably finish them all up and get them powder coated over my spring break (I'm a teacher). This build is rather mild compared to my last few Jeeps, but this time my rig had to be a duel purpose family car and not just a designated trail rig, so I had to keep it under control.

We are pretty informal here. Meet & Greets pop up maybe once a year so your best bet is to keep an eye out for offroad trips being planned and join in. Looks like there is one right now in your neck of the woods.

The jeep guys will only talk trash until you tow their rig home! :p

Since I have owned 3 built Jeeps over the last 10 years, I have a pretty good idea what they can do and I have also owned and wheeled two 80's. They look big and awkward so the little Jeep guys make the assumption I can't keep up. They usually shut up once we hit the trail. I love making them look bad but I also am starting to hate trying to prove them all wrong. I tend to get my 80 into situations I shouldn't just to show the XJ and TJ guys up. That's a recipe for lots of body damage. (which I can't do since the 80 is my wifes daily driver). I figured wheelin with the 80 guys I don't need to prove anything.

No...lol

My bad. I know Vince is on here occassionally. Have you done any wheelin in your 80? We gotta get the three of us out on a trail soon. Looks like a few may go out the 9th and 10th.

Well now I see why I have met so few of you guys, I've been hanging out in the wrong forum. SoCal 80's is where you cats are planning everything. Ill have to keep checking in here to stay on top of things.
