Mark, are you using an external torx socket to remove the stud? If you do that you can get the both of them out and swap in new ones. Those are prone to seizing but if you have enough of it left after your cutting and can get a 1/2" drive setup on there with a breaker bar you should be able to get it. What breathed said about putting multiple extensions together to get a socket on there sounds funny but it is the best way to get it off. Good luck and post up if you need any more help.
" putting multiple extensions together " that's a good one. I bought a 2ft extension for stuff like that the wobble factor in multiple extensions will hurt.. If you have tried the pb blaster and soaked it for a day or two.. and no luck I would say a little heat on the manifold, and use and an undersize 3/8 12pt extension socket pounded on the nut and turn slow... If that fails then mig weld a bigger nut and onto the stud, heat the manifold and turn slowly... make sure you rap the end of the stud with a small hammer a couple of times to try and knock loose what ever you can...
worst case you will snap the stud and have to drill it out and re tap the hole...
I could never get a breaker bar on with either the 3", 6" or 10" there just wasn't enough room. But I never tried to put multiple extensions together. Just didn't think of it.
And as for Torx sockets, I don't have those but I may try to use a left hand drill bit to get it out if I can't get it once I cut off the lock portion of the nut.
I have never had something so frustrating!!! I have been on this stud for probably 7 hrs total. I am completely lost as what to do. I did notice today that I can get to the back side of the stud by removing the heat shields so I sprayed some PB Blaster in the hole on top of the stud. For whatever that will do??? I guess I will make yet another trip to the store looking for torx sockets...

As long as you are not in a short throw of the ratchet or obviously using an impact the wobble isn't much of a factor. It can help with funny angles too. I have them too but most don't have 2 ft extensions.
I wish I was closer to help out Mark. If you can find someone to weld for you Rays tips are some great ones.
