I do not think it is an 84. The dash area around the ash tray is usually quite different on the later models.

Yes, it was. With the exception of the year advertised by the owner, he thought it was a 84 but it's definitely a 1982.
I asked him to verify the title and send me the Vin. I mentioned to him 1983 was the last US sales but 84 was the last manufactured year, but sent outside the US. Something wasn't adding up besides the obvious pictures a give away.
He told me he thought the Vin plate said 11/83, thus sold as a 84.

Here, the Vin plate pic I received earlier today with the other pics. Owner bought it from TLC Van Nuys about 12 years ago with a Stage 1 refresh, now it's been sitting and doesn't run. He's firm on the $15k - got a few calls after me, but they probably like me thought it was a 1983.

Not yet, the owner is looking for the TLC paperwork and I'm waiting for some high res pics. There's the slight issue of being able to smog it here in CA, it did pass back in 1999 then it was transferred to a Nevada title. It also hasn't been registered since 2007, been sitting for quite some time now.
I'm in the market, but not sure I want to take that on, with what I do know and have seen so far, at least at that price point.
And the smog issue........is a 800lb gorilla

Heads up for anyone interested, the original price I had it held for was $15k. Also, previous seller was a great guy just didn't have any time for it anymore, so it had been sitting and didn't run. It was a Stage 1 restore from TLC about 12 years ago.

Yes I purchased the 82 with all intent to keep and not sell. I’ve had some recent change of life events and now I am moving. Landcruiser has been in the shop for the last month getting much work done. All new brakes, tires, rebuilt carb and CAT, all fluids changed, tune up, tie rod ends, wheel bearings and will pass smog with clean CA title. If I can find storage I will keep it but today I placed the CL ad. Contact me with any questions or to set up a viewing. It’s not too far from Specter Offroad.

That was an old pic. Carb was being removed and rebuilt last week. I live in Orange County and the landcruiser is in North LA so I haven’t been up there in a couple weeks

Update on Cruiser. Yesterday I was able to license and register in CA. Passed smog great after newly rebuilt carb and new catalytic. Runs and drives good. 176k on working odometer. Just needs a good cleaning and detail now.
