nothing beats blue camo flexing its nuts.

nice work woody. i have a new background for my desktop (poseur#1)

did you record a ramp figure?. how'd it compare to before?

that rear end doesn't even look like it's struggling

Actually, I didn't record what the "score" was....I believe that's a 25 degree tho. With the old springs, I was a tad under 1000...obviously, that's been beaten. Local shop might build a 30, wanna try that out when it's set.

I am going to limit the rear some....center limit strap, 30"er outta do it (doubled over the upper shock tube mount). That'll limit center droop to 5" max, but not limit the outside much. See how that works.

ok now i'll show my stupidity and why i shouldn't be hanging here with the big boys. but after gaining x amount of flex, why are you limiting it? is it so the drive shafts don't come apart or am i missing something...

The limit strap is to prevent the rear axle from just "falling away" uncontrolled....preventing both sides from drooping together. Plus, you don't want to over-twist the leaf packs...they may bend if overcycled.

It's not limiting, it's controlling.

I was surprised at how balanced it was on the RTI...my hope was the front would still work like it did before, and it appears it does. Course, the trail will be the real test.

Added a front stinger yesterday, and the tab is set for the limit strap.

uh...zero carnage for me...didn't even flop it, but sure tried to...VERY stable, walked many areas I battled in the past, made a few hills that have denied me too. I was VERY pleased with it, gonna make some more tweaks this week and am working on another run down there for April 3rd... ;)

ZERO pics tho...the other rig with me had a busted camera, plus his Jeep broke twice by noon and he was done. (stock D44's suck...)

This week: front limit chain/strap work for hillclimbs, new rear bumper, work on relocating rear shocks.

Sorry to hear about the other rig. Hopefully, you got to wheel a little more after that. You came very close to causing major marital strife in the Gumby household. A lesser man might have just kept going Friday night and ended up in Attica instead of going home like a good boy and enduring in-law Hell all the next day.

Glad to see yer still married...hehehe

Actually, I got in lots of wheelin time...I wheeled almost the entire E quarry BY MYSELF, including all the rock gardens around the rim trail. Only had 'er near-rolled 3 times too....hehehe (yeah yeah, I know, cardinal rule of wheelin...there WAS one stock IFS minitruck thrashing around...not sure they would know how to right a rig, but they could at least watch and cheer...lol) Even tried and made a couple ledges that have denied me in the past.

It is amazing tho just how much wheelin ground you can cover by yourself...I piled thru that stuff in probably 30 minutes, usually that's a few hours with a group...

I hear that!!! Got a bit pissed at the family a while back and took off up my favorite wash alone (yeah, I know better too). I got farther than ever before and managed to have a wonderful time getting myself unstuck a few times (Warn and Hi-Lift are good friends of mine if you know what I mean).

Sounds like a great time. Wish I could have been there. 8)

we want action pics

throw in a good dose of chicks and we may have nirvana

New thread pending with full pics and impressions.....however, I believe a dozen or so people are gonna copy the design...

one sweet pic of two opposite tires at the bottom of Golden Crack....and it walked Double Whammy....

so where are the pics>?

some pics are in the CM04 photo thread in the Events corner, with over 200 more stuck on my camera...gotta find my USB cable (or buy a new one at lunch today....bah...)

Where's the write up? :D I found the pics, but it needs some text. Not that you don't have anything else to do. :flipoff2:
I flipped my rear springs today. My driveshaft tube is now about an inch long. 17" flange to flange. It doesn't bind on full drop, but it's pretty short.
If it's that short and the fenders need cutting anyway, I might as well four link.

And what about ripping your upper link mount off???

:D
