here's the last bit of wiring to be done
2011-12-30134538.jpg

the plug that connects to the console at the other end of this has only three pins in use...
WIRING2.jpg

it is connector "A" on the diagram. pins 4, 3 and 1 are in use. 4 is the green wire at the fuse panel, 3 is black and white and 1 is yellow and blue. I'm not going to start splicing these today, but it's clear one is power, one is ground, and the third... maybe key-on power?

OK, I'm missing this harness as well, so I guess I'm making it. Off to find connectors and pins for the 2 ends. (Connectors A and B)

I picked up one of these kits for Julia's truck (with visors) - but don't have the metal mount bracket - I'm assuming that's really just for the sensor? Will the headliner support the sensor without the bracket?

Having a hard time finding it in a parts catalog to get the part number. (found it - it's 89439-60010, NLA)
The fact that US dealers no longer sell it does not mean it is not available; it only means it's not available from them.

Understood; but Partsouq can’t get it, so not sure who can at this point.

None on eBay atm either.

@eimkeith

There are oem nuts in the roof. No extra bracket.

I have found them in a Lx450 and 95 80

should bolt up with no issues

Just checked my parts truck; there were no nuts over there (would be in the center of the sunroof cartridge, if I'm not mistaken? I found the threaded holes up front though - just nothing in the center of the truck for the sensor.

I realize that this is a very old thread, but I am also trying to fit an overhead compass/altimeter in my FJ80. The 3 leads from the altimeter are simple enough, but finding a magnetic field sensor seems impossible. So far, the only one I've been able to locate is over $600 shipped. In my searches, I found one from an Avalon (part 89641-07020), but it only has 5 leads where the LC has 10. Does anyone know how to wire one from another vehicle or able to find an old one.
For the JF80, the part number is 89641-60010.

@fe sus...great write-up!
