After steam cleaning my filthy engine, I started having alternator problems which quickly lead to the need to replace the alternator. The new alternator was 0.004" wider where the pivot bolt mounts compared to the original alternator. The bushing needs to be pushed back to make room for the new alternator. I came up with the Bush Push tool to reset the bushing to allow for an easy installation of the replacement alternator. A stack consisting of a bolt, nut, washers, and a strategically selected socket works just fine too. Reinstalling the pivot bolt at the torque specification positions the bushing appropriately. As a side note, the remanufactured Denso alternator from Rock Auto arrived damaged...twice.

Good job.

Got more details/dimensions on the parts used, photo of the components
apart?

I used an M10-1.25x35mm bolt and nut. Dimension on the drawing are in inches.
