Will a 1HZ (27060-17220) alternator fit onto a 1FZFE? I ordered the replacement alt and tried changing it out this weekend while I was doing the water pump and thermostat but no matter how much I tried it would not fit into the pivot bolt mounting area. It's part number is 27060-17220.

slightly too wide to properly fit the 1FZ mounting spot

Something like a millimeter too wide, yeah?

I’m probably stating the obvious but the alternator pivot point can be opened up. One side has a collar that is friction fit into place. You can get a pry bar in there and open the gap up enough to squeeze the new alternator in.

Yeah I would say right around a millimeter too large, almost not noticeable, but trying to shove it in at the weird angle it is when fitting it definitely is hard to get the leverage, I will try with a pry bar and if not maybe look at just an aftermarket option.

Rig up a bolt, nut, washer affair and you can push the spacer out enough to install the alternator. When you bolt in the alternator the spacer will be pushed back in.
