Alright now this ain’t stock that’s for sure (1 Viewer)

Decided to take a break from the ignition and am getting started on the instrument panel, I’ve seen pictures and diagrams of stock 40 instrument panels and they don’t look like this. Right now I see what looks like a relay/capacitor thing connected to both the oil pressure gauge and the temperature gauge, with two ground wires coming out of it. Also which side of the gauges actually gives the reading? that would be great to know as well. That little red wire goes to the ignition switch by the way if that changes anything.

Likely a replacement step down buck transformer to change 12 V to 7V to power the other gauges.

If you have not downloaded the Factory Service Manual for that truck, now is a good time to do it. It will explain EVERYTHING you need to know about the gauges.
