Prentice Cooper State Park in TN.

A little later in the season and this park would be beautiful. Trees weren't in full bloom yet. Easy wheeling.

great pics...someone asked but please post up the itenerary.....looks like something I would love to repeat!!

Did y'all camp or hotel it?

3 nights- Hotel, cabin, hotel. The days we planned on camping had thunderstorms in the forecast . So we just scratched the idea.

Beautiful!
Could ya'll have dragged a 2WD tundra through this trip?! I'd love to go in the tow digger next time! I meandered through the access trails of Morris Mountain in the tow rig, so I think I could do most forest type roads.

great pics, looks like fun times.

The way you drive .. No problemo ; )

Thanks to DNP for organizing a great weekend. I finally got some good seat time in the 100. It out performed my expectations in every way....even with half tread AT tires. Weather was good all weekend while we played. Could have done without the storms at night though.

I would certainly be up for doing this again. Ended up being almost 1100 miles RT. I am going to add some pics but try not to duplicate any already posted.

Nevermind till tomorrow...I have a new Mac and don't know how to upload pics

Yeah, post up complete itinerary ... Beautiful scenery.
OK, I'll start now and finish later.

Thursday afternoon, Lenross1 / little people, and dnp / Moonglow80 headed EAST to Alabama. We decided to go part of the way (Birmingham) on Thursday so we'd have more time on Friday to explore around our initial destination (Little River Canyon National Preserve and backcountry). About 700 gallons of fuel later, we arrived at Trussville on the north side of Birmingham.

Friday morning, we met smm3 for breakfast, and from there, we headed north.

The first detour was to see Noccalula Falls in the Town of Gadsden (the falls and gorge are, literally, surrounded by the town). The falls were running harder than I had seen them at any time before. Really nice.

Next stop was at Collinsville to pick up LSD (his real initials) a buddy of mine from Jackson who now lives in Dalton, GA. We dropped his car off for the weekend at a local church and headed for the loop into the LRCNP. Really pretty country around there and some nice paved driving. Every so often, you'll see waterfalls along the road, and we stopped at a few.

Once on top of the mountain (it's actually Lookout Mountain - 90 miles long and runs from Gadsden to Chattanooga), the scenery is really nice. To top it off, when you see Little River Canyon, you'd never think you're in Alabama! While not nearly on the scale of the Grand Canyon, it's still pretty spectacular (I don't know how much perspective you can get from the photo, but that's a full-size river you see in the distance)

More to come.........
